FOBBV Eagles 🦅 Jackie quickly ejects ⏏️ intruder who dares land in nest tree 😲 2024 Feb 15

After a typical evening nest exchange, a sub-adult bald eagle followed Jackie to the basement of the nest tree. She had to eject it twice before it got the message.

Correction: we referred to the intruder as a “juvenile” in the video. The proper identification for the visitor is “sub-adult”. There is an excellent explanation of the differences between juvenile and sub-adult bald eagles here: avianreport.com/age-and-identify-a-juvenile-and-su…. Basically, a juvenile is in its first plumage, which replaces the coat of down while the eaglet is still in the nest. A sub-adult (sometimes referred to as immature) is older than one year and has replaced the juvenile plumage for what is called an immature plumage.

She leaves last minute instructions before departing 😂❤

How magnificent the Bald Eagles are, so glad they are our national symbol and are protected. Just truly amazing.

Really well done. The captions are readable but not distracting. The editing is beautifully done and reeks of your love for these eagles. You showed me a story with drama, heroism, love and I'm so glad I got to see it. Thank you.

I've been watching them for a few weeks now. They they are absolutely beautiful ... I'm a nature fan, and I love watching God's beautiful creation... and this one, I get to watch live. Thank you so much for sharing.

I feel sorry for the juvie. Not an easy stage in a young eagle's life, and the juvie was perhaps happy just to be around other eagles and as @kitkat5765 suggested, maybe get a meal. J&S, however, did not share my human feelings about the wandering juvie. Shadow protected the eggies, and Jackie finally had to resort to some firm lessons to the juvie not to stay in her and Shadow's territory. Thanks for showing us that all's well that ends well, SKH.

That juvie was so comfortable that it may have been Spirit coming to say hi and be fed. However, Jackie can have none of it!
  • @AEW0416
It’s an age-old story. Spirit returns home to mum and dad’s. No job, no prospects, doesn’t want to pay rent. Jackie gave him his marching orders. 😂

As soon as Jackie returned and eggs were covered, shadow went out for a couple beers. That was stressful. 🥚🦅😬. 🍿🍻

Great camera work!!! We thank you for sharing this amazing wildlife adventure here in our backyard (Cali) millions are watching from around the world this is very exciting!!! 👏⚔️🇺🇸⚔️❤️🦅🦅
  • @JoJo-JoJo-JoJo
It seemed like the juvie wanted to be welcomed in, like I'm home!

Poor shadow looked stressed sitting in the nest hearing the kerfuffle but not seeing it
  • @jada2675
Shadow showed great restraint during the exchanges. I’m sure he wanted to go help but followed his duty to guard the eggs. This juvie has hung around too long…maybe Jackie got the point across tonight. Hit the road, Jack.

I love this time of year. I leave this on the living room TV all day so the kids & I can check-in. 🥰🦅

Your dialogue on the videos is hilarious! I’m so attached to these two already, I can only imagine how attached you are.
  • @madasahatter4489
Intruder Juvie to Jackie: "But Mom -- don't you remember me??" (Just another day day in the nest tree - enfluffle, kerfuffle, enfluffle, kerfuffle .. . . . )
  • Ever vigilant and watchful. Shadow shows us what "keep your head on a swivel" means. He's lying down in the nest facing 12 o'clock and can turn his little head effortlessly to face 6 o'clock. Jackie and Shadow are amazing!

Thank you for creating this series and for your very enjoyable commentary. It’s a gift to be able to watch this.
  • @LemonLadyRecords
They have such patience with the young ones! They aren't a threat, but need a good 'lecture'. "Yeah, if that was my eaglet, I'd want them to be gently chased out, and learn something from it." J&S probably aren't thinking that, but the sentiment is there, whether instinct or parental understanding. ❤️🦅🦅🥚🥚🥚

Thanks for sharing this, I never saw this live. Love their Raptor communications, such a vocabulary. Jackie & Shadow have the best Eagle real estate & view imo. Surely this year, they will have young, prayers.🙏🏻🙂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
