Materials are useful substances that help us make or manufacture something.
Look or imagine your favorite toy and now think about the fantastic journey that the materials with which it is made have taken!

The first thing you should know is that the materials can be of two types:
NATURAL or ARTIFICIAL.
NATURAL materials, as their name indicates, are obtained from nature, and are called NATURAL RAW MATERIALS, such as stones, sand, cotton or wood.
These raw materials, depending on where they are obtained, can be:
● Of plant origin: They are obtained from plants, such as cotton, cereals or wood.
● Of animal origin: These are obtained from animals: such as leather, wool and silk.
● and those of mineral origin: They are obtained from minerals and rocks, such as clay, marble and iron.
And artificial materials are those created by humans.
And they are born from the transformation of natural materials.
MATERIAL PROPERTIES
The materials have characteristics that make them special.
Some are heavy, some are light, some are smooth and some are rough.
These characteristics make the material behave in a certain way when faced with external stimuli such as light, heat, forces, among others.
