"After one full orbit of the sun" 4:48 Imagine just some dudes racing for a whole actual full year
  • albon: "imagine racing at over 200 mph, for 24 hours straight, with no breaks" me: damn they mustve been pretty good drivers drivers back then to drive with no brakes

  • 100 year anniversary this year. It is going to be a great race again.
  • Le mans 24 hours: I'm the most dangerous race, I've killed over 100 people. Isle of Man TT: Hold my beer

My grandfather was a co founder of Andial, one of the major teams making the Porsche 962. Now I’m studying Mechanical engineering to work for Porsche’s racing division.

The 2016 ending with the Toyota staff hugging each other once they realized their run was toast was gut wrenching.

Yep, and that iconic Mazda 787B still exist and the demand to see this car is so huge, that it still attracts huge attention whenever they take it on worldwide exhibition show. Even now Mazda still take this very popular car to Le Mans, and the crowd goes wild when they do a startup and rev session. I saw a clip sometime ago where they took the Mazda 787B to a large racing track, and thousands of spectators have paid to see this car as it sped pass them with that rotary at high revs. 👍👍

Albon, one for future videos: 84hs of Nurburgring. That was INSANE.
  • These new hypercars is making LeMans feel like group C again. At least look wise. All of the hyper cars look different with so many factory entries. I'm excited for this new era of LeMans Hypercars.

Great video. I believe 2016 was not Toyota first close call on a victory. '94, '98, '99, 2014 and even 2017 were some heartbroken moments. Also the Audi-Peugeot rivalry (2007-2011) was a great one quickly present.
  • From what I've heard about the Le Mans style start, the drivers wouldn't buckle their racing harness before setting off, but instead would do so at 200 mph down the Mulsanne straight while they steered with their knees
  • To be honest the Dauer Porsche 962LM was the weiderst story of using a loophole on a race. They literaly went "Let's modify a 962 race car to a road car, get it certified, then modify it back to a race car again so we can take advantage of GT's regulation".

I bought a 2007 ford focus for 1000 dollars in Gnadenhutten Ohio and drove it 22 hours straight all the way to San Antonio TX. By the time I got home, my hands and feet were turning blue.
  • 10:41 I remember looking at the body parts of people impaled and lifeless bodies sprawled out on the ground on a subreddit. I forgot which one, but that was just a wild thing to see. Fortunately a good number of those who died was instant but bless ALL of those who didn't make it. Very sad situation and even worse that the race kept going.

I already know this is gonna be a banging video!

The old Circuit de la Sarthe was pure madness. Start/Finish straight had the pit lane running along the main straight and also the classic Le Mans start was absolute madness
