Here's my (not very scientific) theory about why the left Cantorell head doesn't seem to think straight. Assuming the right head grew first (I have no evidence for that), it probably didn't know how to operate the entire Cantorell, which caused the development of the bigger head to be... off. Due to this, the brain wasn't developed correctly, which caused the bigger head to act crazy.

Glad this was the monster done for this episode, the mushroom boy has by far been one of the most interesting episodes I’ve seen from this series. Honestly if anything it has taught me more that I have ever learned in school. Also loved the added rare and epic ideas you had. -
The monster handlers confirmed in Quick Questions Ep5 that the Cantorell isn’t rooted to the ground, so it can move easily.

I've always thought the smaller head is afraid of whatever has happened to his twin, maybe worried for it and/or the fact that they share a body and it could spread to him if it is a disease.

I think the most interesting fire monsters can be plants (like edamimi, barrb or flowah), Sneyser because of geyser, maybe epic stogg, and tiawa.

If the right head is under mind control or some mental affect, then it makes sense that the left head will stay awake in the sleeping animation to make sure it doesn't do anything.
