You know what I find most interesting about steam locomotives? They sound alive, hissing and huffing, their whistles are their voices, calling out to seek attention. Their fire burns like its beating heart and their water is the blood which runs though its body, such marvelous machines.

As an Octogenarian (86) ""locked down " for almost a year now, this has given me a wonderful escape for an hour or so, in my Attic hideaway, couple of beers, most enjoyable. So many thanks for posting!.

As a Dutchman, with 40 railway years behind him, used to Dutch, German and Belgium Steam, I always find the British steam locomotives the most pleasant to look at. This marvellous registration proves my idea.

A breath of fresh steam ~ thanks for clocking up the miles for the 60/70 years olds and me !

That damned Beeching fellow and his enabler Marples. Too much, too soon. Should never have happened the way it did. Excellent compilation dude....

This video is an excellent artistic and technical achievement. To combine so many technical brilliant shots, many with that elusive "moody" atmospheric lighting in HQ video with HQ sound is probably unique. And a brilliant mix to boot. Very well done!

These beautiful old steam trains have bought back beautiful memories of when I was a young girl, we went up north on the flying Scotsmen ❤, in the early 60s and my love for steam has never died, my dad and I use to go to traction engine rallys we drove a burrel dad was controller and I steared it was the best day's of my life ❤ 💙 😀

WoW Now that's what I call an absolutely excellent compilation. I thoroughly enjoyed watching and being able to see and hear the full train, counting the carriages they passed. It was also nice too see some of the old stations so well maintained and fun, for me, too see if I still remembered how to pronounce them. This video brought back many good memories of my youth and train spotting days in the UK. Thank you for sharing :-)

This is a delightful compilation with some brilliant filming. Thank you for the miles travelled to acquire the footage.
  • 3802 departing Llangollen Station and my Dodgy Black 5 Brother passing Berwyn on a goods train. Thanks for including this. You captured 3802 when she was borrowing Foxcote Manor's tender. You've made my day. I saw Rood Ashton Hall four times if I've got it right. Rood Ashton Hall is my new favourite Great Western Tender Engine, and I haven't even met her in the flesh yet. But I do have the Shakespeare Express Train Set in Bachmann 00 gauge form.

They're all brilliant clips but the two black fives at five ways did it for me. Superb!!
