On today’s episode of the Movie Trivia Schmoedown, it’s the semifinals of the Innergeekdom Tournament! Rachel “The Crusher” Cushing has really lived up to her nickname as she has stomped her way through this tournament. She is definitely a fan favorite and has her eyes set on winning her first belt in the Schmoedown. Standing in her way this week is the sensational rookie “Amazing” Mara Knopic whose been surprising the fans and making a name for herself with how quickly she has adapted to the game. The fans have noticed and now she’s ready to take on one of the Inner Geekdom juggernauts in The Crusher. It’s the rookie versus the veteran in a battle to play for the #1 Contenders spot in the tournament. You know there will be some great and respectful nerdy back and forth between these two on the table, but don’t doubt that both of these competitors will be bringing their A game. See who will be left standing at the end and take one step closer to the Innergeekdom Championship.

Mara was in a car accident 24h before the match, Rachel seemed really ill during the match. And they put on Match of the Year. I literally stood up and clapped. Rachel Cushing, Mara Knopic, we salute you.

Here's the deal: Kristian might seem like a hardass, but he's a softy with kids at home. Don't think for a second that he didn't ask these competitors several times whether they were sure they wanted to play. Everyone involved was an adult. Playing makes them happy. This is the Schmoedown, guys. Enjoy it and remember these players are fans, too. Respect all over the place to both competitors. I am beyond impressed at the amount of knowledge and endurance these two displayed. THANK YOU!!!

I know Cushing is a machine but felt bad for Mara due to how they kept essentially just cheering on only Cushing finding ways throughout the entire match to compliment her and say how amazing she is.

I didn't think Rocha/JTE would be beat as my favorite match of this year but Wolfe/Kalinowski happened and Bateman/Mantz happened and then Ghai/Murrell happened and now THIS? Season 5 was trailing Season 4 for me for a long time, but that has changed
