Imagine trying to actually fire someone you hired exclusively for the purpose of being fired.
  • The shadowing husband story sounds like the women accidentally married a stalker

"and not a breast pump in sight" despite Ian's best efforts

I'm really surprised the husband stalker story didn't get more of a reaction. That sounds like emotional abuse; he refuses to let her have her own space. The mental stress of that sort of thing is immense.
  • The shadowing husband is a stalker. The fact that he got MAD that he couldn't copy his wife is psychotic. She needs to divorce him NOW.

“The weight of the world is on teenagers at their first jobs” -Profoundly said by Courtney Miller

"I thought it was for the whole office to share" So, of course, I ate the whole thing.

"We face timed a sheep with a crazy name, like Daisy" "Yeah..that's a crazy name." 😭😂 12:21
  • The story about the husband shadowing her at work .... OP, YOUR HUSBAND IS EITHER DANGEROUSLY OBSESSED OR HE DOESN'T TRUST YOU TO BE OUT OF HIS SIGHT. Either way? Girl, you in danger. Being followed from school to school, office to office ... that's not normal, that's not romantic, that's not loving behavior. The husband either has no sense of himself outside of who he's partnered with or he hates not having control over and access to the wife at all times. I know this is Smosh, they tried to keep things light, but please: RUN. They have kids together so it'll probably be impossible to cut him out completely, but she needs to leave.
  • The story about the husband following his wife from job to job for 20 years is TERRIFYING to me. What are the odds that this guy is just naturally skilled at all the exact same things as her to the extent that he could succeed in being accepted by all the same employers and degree programs for that long? Pretty low. That makes me think that in addition to controlling, he's really good at convincing people to let him do things they wouldn't otherwise let him do, like the way he convinced the principal to allow an untrained, strange man in the classroom full of kids in order to shadow his wife(!!!). I hope the response to this letter was a wakeup call for OP and she gets out but it seems likely that even if she leaves the relationship, she'll continue to have a stalker.
  • Please, please do an "Updates" episode where you go back over previous stories and read the updates that have been added since the original reading. Would be awesome! Love SMOSH!

She married her stalker. If she had broken up with him or divorced him cleanly before they had kids I have no doubt that he would be doing this still. I’m getting “nothing is closer than wearing your skin” vibes.
  • Story 2 is not little brother energy, it's overbearing, crazy stalker energy that she has been conditioned to accept for TWENTY years. I'm nervous for when she puts her foot down & tries to enforce a boundary

Okay so here's my grand fantasy. Smosh shows slowly start featuring original cast members, one by one, until a decent number have been back on. Then, out of the blue, Smosh Summer Games: Old Smosh vs New Smosh is announced. (Also Pluto becomes a planet again.)
  • I was engaged to a guy that acted sort of like the guy in the second story. It is 100% a control thing. He would leave his job and come sit right outside of the door of my job to watch me. The store/coffee shop front was solid glass and I could see him watching me for hours. I finally (after weeks) had a friend (huge guy) go out and pretend to be security to tell him to leave. A few months later he snapped and put his hands on me and bruised my face- it was over immediately. Control was absolutely his motivator for all of his actions.

For the work co-dependency story, OP said they're 39 and the husband is 44, and they've been together 20 years. They got together when OP was 19 and the husband was 24. I'm getting the impression the guy has been predatory and controlling a lot longer than perhaps OP realises.
  • @zachpullara5048
12:28 Courtney saying "that's a crazy name" sarcastically about the sheep named daisy is so funny to me for some reason
  • @tiamata8100
Why is no one talking about the ages in the shadowing husband story. She’s 39, they have been married for 20 years. SO they got married when she was 19 and he was 24, not to mention how long they were dating. All his behavior tracks.

A coworker & I bought a rotisserie chicken. We ate 1/2 for lunch, & put half in fridge with our names on it. Next day, went to get lunch, carcass was there, but all meat was gone. To me, that seemed extra rude, leaving an empty carcass.
