I'm not sure if this was David Harper's greatest ever percentage profit for an item he found for his Bargain Hunt team but it's pretty impressive.

I used to watch BH with my mum, wish I could do so again, still watch it when I can and I always leave a seat empty, just in case she comes to watch with me. Miss you mum, until its my time.
  • In the mid 90’s I purchased a mid 19th century fireplace mantle and surround from a Sydney auction for $440, sent it to a specialist auction and it sold for $23,000. Turns out it was a gift to,the governor of Australia and was exhibited at a Royal Melbourne exhibition.
  • They got everything right with Bargain Hunt. A much, much needed break from all the vanity and money chasing. Just nice, real people having a laugh. Thank you Tim Wonnacott. I always feel better after watching.

Normally it's "Congratulations to the red team, today's winners with minus twenty-six pounds.".
  • My mother was going to move house to live with my sister, so was selling EVERYTHING in her 3 bedroom fully furnished home. A dealer came in and said, you won't get much for anything, I will give you $650 for the lot. The dining room suite was worth more than that! Dealers can sell things for what looks like a cheap price, but they will be making a huge profit. So shows like this are just TV reality.
  • LOL at all these comments about it being rigged. That aren't finding brands like Tiffany at dirt cheap prices every episode this is quite rare, in fact most episodes these days have a loss for both teams.

this is a first, ive never before YouTube'd any BH t im 30 and been a huge fan of this programe ever since BBC ditched that tango twit David Dickenson! btw.. R.I.P David Barbie, you were a true gent and my favourite BH expert.
  • Always watch bargain hunt every lunchtime I’m obsessed with all things to do with antiques!!!
  • It's engraved crystal, it's silver, it's enamel, it's Tiffany's. I've seen the silver mirrored compacts with the same guilloche enameling on this show go for that much but they are usually bought at a higher price so make less profit. He bought it for very little so of course the profit is huge.

I wonder if the person who sold it for £26 saw this

Tim doing it properly. When bargain hunt was good, they could buy what they liked for how much they wanted to pay.
