As a retired lawyer licensed in two states, I am appalled by those Trump lawyers who have committed crimes. Every state Bar imposes a code of ethics on every lawyer. One of thoses rules of ethics is to avoid the mere appearance of impropriety. And the commission of any crime involving moral turpitude nearly always results in disbarment. Such lawyers are a disgrace to our profession.

There is a serious need for the equivalent of a bar association overseeing Scotus.

If the legal profession wants to keep the respect it has earned in the past, ethical lawyers need to press their bar associations to disbar these criminals. Get them out of the profession completely.
