I used to drink two bottles of Diet Pepsi every week. One bottle for after work, one bottle for the weekend. That weekly habit cost $10 per month. Soda was always on sale.

That changed during the pandemic. The weekly habit became a daily habit of one bottle per day. That daily habit cost $100 per month. Soda was no longer on sale.

After blowing out my food budget for four months, I quit drinking soda one year ago. These days I drink one gallon of water every day. I also drink apple juice, cranberry juice, and hot chocolate, to add variety.

After I stopped drinking soda, the 7-11 down the street from my home shut down last month. I'm sure that was a coincident.

I've been drinking a variety of sodas, about 2L per day, for the past several years. Costs me more like $75 per month. I also drink about 4L of water per day. I've never really had any problems with it.
