How to Condition Your Dog to the E-collar ⚡️ FIRST E-collar Session

This is just a short little clip from a client session that I thought I'd share. The e-collar is not a torture device like many people think it is.

Great video, great explanation. I’ve had mine for a minute but haven’t started using it yet because I wasn’t confident I would do it properly even though I’ve watched a ton of videos. You explained it just different enough to where it makes enough sense and now I think I got it.

I think your human psychology skills are on point. I love how you overcame the normal hesitation people have when dealing with “shock” collars.. Actually, having the guardian experience the stim is genius and lays the groundwork of trust and understanding of what you are actually trying to accomplish! Bravo

E collars are great when used correctly. The beep function is good for training to not react to other dogs or to scavenge food from the street. The vibrate is good to stop pulling and teach them to pay attention and look to you.
  • Wonderful job! It's like watching the LEGENDS Larry Khon, and Robert Cabral! If every customer learned this way E=Collars would not have the bad rap! You are in my city too!!!
  • Wow this was a great video! I've been hesitant to begin my dog's training and now I feel so much more confident. Thank you.

I love how you did the training person to person first. I have a wonderful german shepherd who we fostered then adopted. She is great on recall as long as there is nothing else around, but pretty reactive on leash, when off leash she rushes other dogs that she doesn't know if they are taller than her. Our trainer recommended this e-collar for her and I'm looking forward to working with her on it. Having that stimulation to come back to me is exactly what we need.
  • Thank you!! I’m going to introduce my young powerful dog to the ecollar and I am very nervous I don’t want to mess up. ( I’m working with a trainer) - I feel a lot less nervous after watching your video. Many thanks!
  • Best ecollar video I’ve been able to find! A really good explanation of the ecollar and it’s correct use!

Great video! I've been having a tough time getting started using a Mini Educator with my young German Shepherd and appreciate how slow and thorough the instructions are in this video. Looking forward to seeing more.
  • @colby.
with the e collar, it will help if u put it higher up on the neck.
  • Wow, so “not” what I thought E-collars were like. Thank you for explaining.

You don't need to pay for a professional to use the e collar when all the information you'll need is on YouTube
  • LOVED THIS. Can I ask will this go on and on? I want to see MORE advanced !

Thank you so so much! This has been the most helpful training I've watched for the remote collar. Good job! 👍

Very good lesson! I used vibration mode and treats to train recall while playing fetch with my dobie. Also used for "drop it" when he returned to my side, great tool!! <><
  • I use e-collar Dogtra- has 3 buttons, for recall l use only vibration…. for correction it’s one short electrical “remainder“, l was never in the situation needed to use C- contiguous electrical correction, but if my dog would try to chase a bore- l definitely would Great tool, giving us a lot of freedom 🐕❤️

GREAT SO CLEAR VIDEO! I like that my Malinois uses "seatbelts" ...yes my Dogtra.
