My eldest was obsessed with Dynamo and after I asked what he wanted for his 16th, he said “Dynamo to come to our house” I managed to find Dynamos agent and he agreed to come to our home. He stayed for ages and was such a beautiful young man, performing right in front of my son and his friends, amazing magic. We were allowed to video close up and we still have the tapes. That was 2006. Steven/Dynamo, you still have that exact same charisma and we all wish you every success for the future. You have a beautiful and magical aura 🙌🏽🤗

I remember when Dynamo first appeared on TV, and thinking he was extremely humble for someone so talented. I wish him health and happiness for the future.

My son is a magician & his inspiration was you. He hated school & he became self taught & you are his hero.

As a girl born and raised in Bradford I can really understand a lot of what Steven says. I was bullied so much by people bigger than me, I loved school and learning but was called out for being a know it all, my friends were targeted too and at times the teachers had to drop me off home after school because of how bad it was. The estates in Bradford were full of criminals and was hard to go out without being drawn to it, thankfully my Dad got me and my brother out of there when I was 15 and now we've grown up and have great lives. Cant say the same for the bullies and a lot of the others who got involved in bad stuff but you become who you hang around with. Be proud of yourself Steven xxx

He's been through so much, I can see the pain behind his eyes. I just want to give him a hug.
  • Listening to him talk about his childhood and upbringing was tough man. Can’t stand bullies, make me sick. What a resilient man.

My Dad died from suicide when I was sixteen. I can assure anyone feeling suicidal it’s the worst thing you can do to your family. Please, please speak to someone straight away. To be left without a Dad is heartbreaking, soul destroying and more damaging than you realise. It’s cost me my marriage and other relationships. You are loved, wanted and needed, stop and really understand my message. ❤

For all his very personal and tragic health problems he is a fantastic entertainer with a great gift. I wish him all the very best with his recovery.

Dynamo isn’t just a magician who entertains he’s a magician who touches hearts too. I applaud him for giving such a relatable raw version of himself in order to help others
  • Thanks for being yourself. I moved to London about 11 years ago. I always hoped to meet you on a street performing some magic like in one of your series. Last year, in one of the most unexpected times for me and most unexpected place, while walking out on a street outside my house, you saw me wearing a Dynamo sweater I bought during your tour years ago, and you stopped me and smiled at me. You pulled over your car, came off and showed yourself like the most humble human being I ever met. It was one of the most amazing times in my life. I could barely say something to you so I was shocked while shacking your hands. Please stay strong! You let us dream everyday! Thanks for sharing your story. ❤

I really relate to Steven’s reality he talks about here… such a humble and honest discussion… his disjointed childhood as a small, mixed race kid, with a chronic ailment too, and his struggles to come to terms with and overcome the negative limitations that these factors imposed in his life. Such a talented guy Steven is, I wish him strength and wellbeing, and hope he will find fulfilment again through his real talents.
  • @barbygoodley3301
Dynamo…. I am 68 years old and I have never heard such an honest and articulate interview….. My Son loves magic, possibly for a similar reason ! I know you don’t want sympathy for your unfortunate experiences but my heart goes out to you and well done for being so open ❤
  • @rachaelhoward350
I think this is the most impactful episode I’ve listened to. What an incredibly brave man. I’m glad he’s still with us ❤
  • @poesie6279
This is your best guest ever, he’s so humble in the best, dignified way, he’s so courageous only partially aware of his talents. This is the best I’ve seen from you too, very sensitive, respectful and genuine. He has been so hurt; the world needs people like this who speak from the heart. I really like the way he sees and experiences magic in the world and in every day relationships.

What a fantastic interview, Steven is incredibly humble and candid about his journey so far and the challenges he has had to endure. As a Crohns sufferer, I can relate to his suffering of this horrible and often debilitating disease, it truly can tear your life apart and make you face physical pain and mental lows that your previously never knew existed. He has clearly suffered a lot, both physically and mentally, thankfully he is a fighter and managed to overcome his darkest moment. I wish him nothing but the best, he is an incredibly talented, humble and honest human being and the world is a better place with him with us, I hope he continues to have the loved ones around him continue to support him. Additionally, I applaud Stephen Bartlett for his handling of this interview, his professional, sensitive, empathetic, yet probing approach to explore the areas of Steven’s journey that can help to serve so many others watching this podcast, very very well done!

One of the best podcasts I've ever seen and heard.. honestly having addiction issues through my life and understanding how low you can feel.. yes I get were hes coming from.. strange we all have difficulties in life that punch you when you have been punched to the point of surrender.. honestly I'm sitting here praying for this man I'm not a type of person that does pray but I'd love to see him have some happiness true happiness in his life.. I can see he feels comfortable talking to the chap across the room and that's a lovely sight to see.. thanks for this.. this is what the YouTube platform should be for.. ❤❤❤
  • @R56TurboCharged
It's not the tricks that make him a great entertainer/magician but his personality, and that cannot be faked. A true star.
  • @gerardscott5815
Dynamo is such a class guy. Have even more respect for him after this interview. The real magic here is his brutal honesty and vulnerability. Lovely guy. I really hope he reads some of the comments here and see how much he's truly loved ❤

I totally feel your pain Steven... & it's a pleasure to get to know you better through this conversation. You are a Top Guy, never forget Brother... When you can. There is nothing you can't do even when debilitated. One of the worst things is being mentally & physically debilitated. I know this 'place' as you do, one just has to let it pass until one is in that place in the mind, where you can 'create'... Wishing you well fella... ❤✌🙏
