KIERAN'S MAIN CHARACTER ENVY | Let's Play Pokémon Violet (Indigo Disk) #8

Hey friendos, welcome to Episode 8 of my Pokemon Violet Indigo Disk Let's Play! Or, ya know, the version that exists now, since the original version's footage was basically unusable because it kept skipping and glitching, which means this LP will be missing the Drayton fight, so, sorry about that. Hopefully finding a Mythical AND doing the Kieran fight in one episode will make up for that a little bit? Haha. Anyway, I've also got Episode 9 ready to go for tomorrow, and I'm most likely gonna record 10 at some point today before I go to work at my IRL job, so hopefully I should be able to put out a few more episodes headed into the weekend as we close out 2023. I'm not sure how much more is actually available to do in this DLC, or how much I'll actually include, but there's a couple more things I definitely wanna put in here before it's all said and done. I hope everyone's Thursday is going alright! In any case, DRINK WATER.

Shame that you lost some footage I was looking forward to, but it can't be helped. At least I'm happy you liked the vague hints I gave so you could find Meloetta (which I kept vague on purpose, because I know you don't like spoilers). You're welcome! My personal favorite League Club room design is probably the futuristic one, due to all the cool Unova references it contains. Your battle with Kieran was very nice. I personally enjoyed having that battle too when I got to it. The first time a Champion is fought in a Double Battle. Finally time for this DLC to live up to its collective title. Let's hope there won't be any further technical issues.

Though despite the lost footage, that's still not stopping ya from either competing the Pokedex and/or creating a new What If video in 2024

While I still haven't done the Indigo Disk DLC, I'm still doing the Teal Mask, I'm very excited of the prospect of changing my character's throwing style to the smug style. My character's eye shape and mouth shape that I chose at the start of the game were chosen so it looks like he's perpetually bored, uninterested, or dismissive of everything around him. So having him throw a Poke Ball while turning away from the opponent with his eyes closed feels like he's dismissing them, which is absolutely disrespectful, yet also feels like the ultimate power move. Using that style against Kieran, so it looks like my character is actively dismissing him? Oof, push the poor kid down further, why don't I?

Obviously there was so much lazy bisexual flirty Drayton in the lost footage that your capture software couldn't handle him.

Indigo Disk Episode 8 comments - Oh no! I'm so sorry that happened to you again, Daniel. Hopefully we can figure out why this keeps happening so we can prevent it in future Let's Plays. - Ooh, the dark room decor is very cool! Now I'm curious to see what the other designs look like; I'll have to look that up. - You said you were going to "meet your maker" when you went to fight Kieran, but considering he became the way he is because of some stupid choices you were forced to make in the Teal Mask, aren't you his "maker" in a sense? - Why do you keep saying Politoed's name with four syllables? It's a TOAD with actual toes (like a 2-toed or 3-toed sloth, which is also read as "toad"), so either way it should be pronounced "Polly-toad." - I hope that anyone Nuzlocking this game doesn't carry their challenge into the DLC. Champion Kieran looks like a real run-killer here. - Oh look, the "Top Champion" came all this way to see us. Will she actually have something useful to do in this DLC? Also, if my theory is correct that Rika is Nemona's older sister (as far as I know this hasn't been confirmed or denied), then it makes perfect sense that she in particular would be be angry at you for going into Area Zero without permission and putting her sister in danger. - QOTD: I like obtaining Legendary Pokemon in fun little quests baked into the game, like the Ruinous Quartet in this game or the Regi Puzzles in Hoenn. Gen 4 did it well with the Darkrai and Shaymin events, but I don't like that they were timed exclusives, especially back in the early days when you had to go to a physical location to get the code.

When did you defeat Drayton? Because you have to do that before you can battle Kieran.
