In this video, Dr. Geoffrey, a board-certified emergency medicine physician, discusses the top five causes of chest pain, focusing on non-cardiac issues.

GERD (Gastric Esophageal Reflux Disease) results from excessive gastric acid production, leading to chest pain. Lifestyle changes like diet modifications and weight loss are primary treatments, with medication such as H2 blockers used if necessary.

Myocarditis, characterized by inflammation of the heart muscle, can be caused by various factors including viruses, bacteria, toxins, and even snake bites or vaccines. Symptoms include shortness of breath and fatigue, requiring prompt medical attention.

Pleurisy, or inflammation of the pleura around the lungs, causes chest pain exacerbated by deep breaths. Treatment depends on the cause, often involving anti-inflammatory medications.

Costochondritis involves inflammation of the costochondrial joint connecting the rib bone to the sternum. Pain with breathing or touch is common, with treatment typically involving anti-inflammatory drugs.

He emphasizes the importance of recognizing these non-cardiac causes of chest pain and seeking appropriate medical care when necessary.

Thank you. I will look into GERD and search for the answer. Not on my own exclusively!
  • Proper stomach acid, which is pretty high is important for nutritional health, digestive ability, absorption and utilization by the body affecting our immune system and overall health do not reduce your stomach acid. You really really need it instead improve the stomach acid by increasing it and repairing they sphincter at the top of the stomach, by lowering the pH of the acid and allowing the sprinter to appropriately close never take omeprazole or like medications
