Your Windows 98 PC build back in 2018 was one of the best videos I've ever watched... I haven't even started watching this yet and I already know it's going to be amazing! Keep it up!

It's crazy how good a game from 2004 still looks today! Doom 3 is just amazing.

What an amazing coincidence! 😁 That build blows mine out of water... I'm very impressed - this is actually the ULTRAXP's big brother! Glad there were no leaked caps this time, loved this video)

Alright now that I've finished: I actually had this Antec case back in probably 05-07! Mine was quite worse for wear but it was indeed one of the best cases I ever owned before 2010. I loved the captioned titles of the games, each one of them made me chuckle. That's also an incredibly impressive library of games to play on this beautiful machine, and they all run so much smoother than the Pentium system I had at the time ever could. I remember playing Quake 4 at 640x480 with 15-20FPS in the best performing areas and thinking it looked incredible. Never did beat that one! This was a super awesome nostalgia trip and honestly I miss this era of computing. Just the installer music alone sent me on a huge wave of nostalgia. They just don't make the experience as cool as it once was anymore. Windows XP was a huge part of my life for way more years than it should have been. Exposed me to a lot of knowledge about computing, and also how stupid I could be with one. I'll never forget tearing the registry apart to learn every bit of how it worked, watching viruses eat my computer alive because I didn't understand basic computer maintenance as a kid and also put my grubby hands on virtually any download link I could find at the time haha. Thank you Shelby, from the bottom of my heart, for this incredible video

I had the same case back in the 2Ks. Built several systems with them. They came with handy carry straps, but no dust filters. I had UV CCFL tubes too. They turn the clear acrylics brown after a few years! Those games brought back some memories.

Several years ago, I owned that very same Sony DVD+-R drive. Loved it. Had very little trouble burning discs with it!!

A Zboard would be a nice period correct keyboard, especially with the Doom 3 keyset if you can find one! I remember being so jealous of my brother when he got one
  • @CoolFire666
This hit me right in the nostalgias. Yes, plural.
  • The windows 98 and XP builds were super interesting to see. Thanks a million!!

Gives me the feels. First PC I built was around 2000 as everything I had before then was a upgraded prebuilt. I miss this generation and how unacceptably tacky it was. Solid man.

I get strong nostalgia pangs seeing the XP installation....so many fresh installations! New office looks to be working out great too!
  • Oh man - that case fan with the LEDs shining into the blades... that takes me back. I was working at an independent computer store around this time. We started carrying case mod and water cooling stuff, and all of us had an informal competition for the coolest modded rig. I built in an aluminum case, water cooled and overclocked a Northwood P4, cut my own window (which came out just slightly better than you would expect), installed cold cathode lights, spray painted my drive bezels silver, and of course replaced all the drive LEDs with white and blue ones. Install StyleXP to use a unique skin, and voila ... maximum early 2000s achieved. 😎

All the parts have so much color to them, and the boxes are also very beautiful
