The question is, why is mankind still holding on to bronze age mythologies and superstitions? Why are we letting beliefs formed when diseases were thought to be demons, guide human progress?

Christianity used to be a good religion, followed by the Golden Rule. However, over time, it got twisted and tortured. People now weaponize it to fit their agenda. The point is that people use religion to assert control of those who do NOT share their views. You create a god, then get defensive when others question YOUR god. That's your problem, not ours.

Spiritual warfare is a part of Catholicism, too. I imagine all religions would have a degree of spiritual warfare between evil and good. To be at peace also means to be reconciled with God rather than following the heresy (what is sometimes described as Cafeteria Christianity). An example of heresy is the so-called Social Gospel.
