I think the REAL reason why the series was ruined is because of the people saying it was a "GTA RIPOFF" and volition listen to them.

Former SR4 haters after SR reboot: "Perhaps we have treated you too harshly."
  • This didn’t age well. This game definitely didn’t ruin the series.
  • @Deuteromis
I don't think 4 ruined the series, but it definitely jumped the shark. Gat Outta Hell ruined the series. And what I'm hearing, the reboot just might have killed the franchise.

Can i admit something? I actually like Saints Row 4 For the love of God stop replying to this comment I beg you

I know that SR4 gets a lot of shit, and I’m not expecting any different here, but I can’t lie when I say that I adore the absolutely INSANE acid trip that is this fucking game
  • After playing the new saints row game, I've officially grown to appreciate saints row four including Gat out of hell. They may be ridiculous and over the top and they may seem like they "ruined" the series in a certain way but at least they're playable, interesting, really fun, and not full of annoying bugs, from what I've experienced. I love every saints row game now excluding the new one which deserves to be deleted 💀
  • fun fact: the whole "time travel" thing he just glossed over, it's the canon ending. the saints literally went through time and stole a bunch of shit and fucked with a bunch of historical events.

The fourth game was intended to be a dlc? That actually makes a lot of sense. Had S4 been just a DLC, I think the sense of power progression would have been better.

Ironically enough, GTA's now taking heat for emulating both Saints Row's zaniness and the fantastic super-criminal-slash-spy caper premise of Fast & Furious.
  • compared to the new game this one was a fucking masterpiece
  • now that the latest SR got released, I think pretty much everyone can all agree now SR4 is greatly underrated.

The thing that actually improved my time with the game was making the main character look like Duke Nukem. Made fighting aliens seem feel right. Endless pop culture references, yep Duke. And it was still better than Duke Nukem Forever.
  • SR2 and SR4 are my favorites personally, as they represent the extremes of the series. 2 is the grittiest and most genuinely badass game of the franchise, and 4 is generally just one of the most batshit insane games ever made, which I actually really appreciate. Excellent editing here though, for real! Dope video!
  • SR4 was so much fun, I really don't understand the hate it gets. People act like SR2 was a super serious game, but it was plenty goofy and over the top, not as much as 4 obviously but it wasn't a serious game. I enjoyed both of them for what they were. I don't know, I guess making my character look like Miku Hatsune, flying around the city while listening to EDM and using the dubstep gun on everything in my path was pure fun for me.
  • This video is a perfect example of how culture influences peoples perception. SR4 is a fine and funny game meant to be laughed at my dude

A series that wasn’t even RPG had 10x better customizations than Cyberpunk, lmao

Title: SR4 ruined everything Everyone in the comments: Actually SR4 was pretty good
  • Just finished SR4 and I must say it took a while to get into it but it's now one of my favourite games. It's like GTA meets Prototype. Brilliant
