The water turn dark to hide the fact that there are just tenticles in the water and not an entire kraken or else you'd be able to go under water and see it instead of just complete darkness.

FYI they didn't kill it, they survived an encounter. Apparently it gets more difficult each time you encounter it.

ok, so for all of you, who dont know : that was the first kraken fight which is really easy. As you encounter it multiple times it gets harder every time with more attacks and stuff. Also, they are still working on the kraken, so expect to see more

Great video loads of people want to actually see the kraken in sea of thieves but they never see it so you made a great job actually defeating it

FYI, the Kraken will have many stages and this was only the first stage. Each stage gets harder and harder and the final one is when the Kraken actually exposes its entire body.

I LOVE the design choice to flood the sea with ink when you encounter the kraken, so you can never actually see its body! That's amazing!
