Just had my last day as a deckhand. It was my first job working on the water, and I loved it. Unfortunately, the season came to an end with the water getting icy in the wintertime. I’ll be able to go back to the job in a few months, and it’ll be pretty fun to listen to this song on my 2nd first day!

This song I first heard from Jerry / Grisman and I've played my own version for 10 plus years now. It has become part of me. I am quite sure with DNA of Welsch and Irish and Scottish blood some forefather was a weary deckhand who lived it.
