Secret collection of 80s and 90s AMG & Brabus Mercedes - Car Caves. In this special garage tour episode Jonny Smith visits a chap called Neville in Surrey who has a stash of about 20 cars, most of which are niche tuner Mercedes from the 80s and 90s period. In between these boxy Benzes he also has several muscle cars and a custom car, harking back to his childhood of seeing '70s style Street Machines.

  • This was brilliant and great that Nev could stay off camera. Easy to forget that these are highly personal and not everyone wants to advertise what they have. Being allowed to see the collection but not the owner is perfect as we want to see the cars. Jonny has that difficult knack of not saying too much and allowing the owner to speak. Car caves and barn finds are the best.
  • I like the fact that Jonny respects that the owner did not want to be on camera and the video still looks great!
  • As an owner of a bunch of 80s German cars including a pair of Cosworth‘s, this is one of the most amazing collections I’ve ever seen!❤️
  • This is why I should have spent my life trying to get rich. Too late now, but hey! I can appreciate this obsessive collection. Seriously impressive.

Dutchman Willy Mosselman made some incredible turbo kits for Benzes. I remember reading an interview with him in a Dutch car magazine (Autovisie). His filosophy was to keep the compression ratio high and use low turbo pressure. This way the efficiency of the engine was good at the whole rev range and turbo lag was also not an issue. It was a totally different filosophy than what was common back in the 80s.

One of my all-time favorite episodes. What an amazing collection. And it's great hearing the stories about him chasing all the special parts. Sometimes that's the most fun part.
  • I absolutely love 80s and 90s Mercedes! My Dad had a 190e, a few of my friends Dads also had various Mercs in the 80s and early 90s. So many memories, emotions and nostalgia. All the right feels you should get from classic cars.
  • The only car enthusiast that dont like manuals thats crazy to me but seems like a top bloke an knows a hell of alot

It's incredible how many classic Mercedes this guy has and parts at his disposal. I didn't want this episode to end. Fantastic video Johnny, you never fail to deliver.
  • Str8 up 👍🏻 off the thumbnail alone Mr smith!! you make a perfect end alongside a roast normally boring Sunday 👌 😋 I salute you !!
  • It's not often I'm motivated to watch a video twice, but will watch again on the big screen to take in the full vista of Neville's awesome setup and cars, just a great show 'n' tell video and incredibly informative with it too

Brilliant, great collection.I had a R plate C36 when I was 21, about 16 years ago. Loved it. Was slower than my e36 328i sport but it was such a cool car.
  • @bentaylor9021
Wow! What an amazing collection. Cannot wait to see the barn find episode too. Fair play to Nev, that’s a hell of a lot of dedication and determination that has built that collection! All I would have wanted to add would be a sorted BMW E30 M3 and a screaming M5 or 5 series Alpina from the same era. Respect for your car cave sir 🙏🏻👍🏻
  • Top car fleet and a top quality cameraman. Well done Neville!
  • The owner is a legend. He is also wearing my favourite watch a Tag Monaco ❤
  • What a absolutely brilliant collection of cars Neville, Such a knowledgeable person and all the better that your behind the camera. What an episode. Thank you for sharing it.
  • @Lot76CARS
Oh, I love my 190E… in fact was out in it today. The ‘Y’ plate 190E is a super early car at production only started in late 1982, obviously LHD as the first UK cars all appear on ‘A’ plates. Only a pity Neville didn’t appear on camera.. however the cars are the stars as always!
  • Love seeing the old American stuff in the UK. Upon being discharged from the army in 69 during the Vietnam era my father bought a 1970 Firebird Formula 400 (Trans Am without the disco) with a 4-speed and all manner of go-fast goodies. I came along in 73 and that was our family car until 80. He bought another Formula in 87, which for the then thirteen year old me was the final nail in the car obsession coffin that I have yet to climb out of.
  • @havocmwf
This is the second of these videos I have watched of Nev's car collection. He sounds like an awesome guy and down to earth. Did I mention that I love his Merc collection?
