  • Oh wow they got the sheighffurshhweighefur, they got a prize? That's pretty cool.
  • My step-dad showed me how to set dowels using a drill. Pretty much what y'all were doing, but step-dad insisted it was 'resins' in the wood that melted together. All I knew was it was quick; the dowel spins in the hole, then suddenly 'grabs'.
  • So THAT'S how you build those Ikea bookshelves... Edit: Thanks for explaining my joke.
  • I learned this accidentally with a drill press. I didnt know i deserved an award!
  • That was an awesome video! You do such a great job of not only explaining, but demonstrating the concepts. Amazing!

Theres a nail gun that shoots wooden nails. It’s called Lignoloc which permanently bonds the wood together.

So, since wood exudes volatiles when it's heated, then heating it under vacuum would actually cause the volatiles to escape even sooner because there is no pressure helping to hold it together. What if we tried it the other way around? What if we INCREASED the pressure and tried melting the wood? Could we melt wood in supercritical carbon dioxide? That would probably dissolve the volatiles and we would get recrystallized organic compounds when the pressure was released. What if we tried something inert, like high pressure argon? What would that do?
  • So are you saying that if I use too much force my wood will melt? 👀
  • I can’t believe how much your on screen presence and structure has improved - your old videos vs now is night and day - hats off to you as the action lab has been my go to channel for over 5 years Much love

"I'm going to heat my wood with a laser while it's under vacuum and see if I can permanently deform it..." I feel ya, brother.
