13 out of the 23 stages prior to Sizzle Season 2024 got some level of changes, combining that with the new map and prior reworks it's time to see what changed and if the map design has actually improved.

Btw, umami clams had the first vertical grates...

Before we go on to the stage rework, a moment of silence for the hero who sacrificed their live for the greater good of their people. Their time on this earth was short, and they only were a source of mockery in their time, but now, we are sad to see you go Goodbye hagglefish market splat zones pole. You will be deeply missed
  • @yoboinebby7841
Its actually INSANE how good Umami got after the update, a map I already kinda liked is now actually pretty great overall, and Barnacle was also a map I already liked and the rework is pretty sweet for it as well
  • @sonicrunn3r895
Even on the stages that didn't change that much, shoutouts to the overwhelming majority of blocks, ramps and other objects in the changed maps that used to be unthemed squidforce objects that got changed into unique looking ones based on the theme of the stage. It's a nice touch but I hope that it continues in the other maps if they rework and tweak some more in the midseason patch.
  • Counting Hammerhead as a full rework but not counting Umami is actually kind of insane, the Umami rework is genuinely one of the best map reworks they've ever done
  • @KayFiOS
It's like Nintendo saw your last video talking about their stage reworks being underwhelming and this was their response lol
  • @yggdrasilsaltar
the expansion pass dev team went “relax, ill handle it” and got to fucking WORK even if the changes arent all winners i still think 13 INDEPENDENT STAGE CHANGES is still an insane number. makes you remember how dire the map design really was
  • @Funnytoadman
Chara made a positive vid on splatoon 3. the world is healing.
  • I realized recently why chargers still feel worse to fight in soloq in s3 than they did in s2 (other than ink armor), it's that despite all the positive changes, maps in s3 still just feel smaller. Like, if you're playing on the reef, it doesn't feel like there's one spot a charger can stand to lock down literally every relevant map position, but if you're playing somewhere like Sturgeon, a good charger becomes insanely annoying to get anywhere near
  • @ebensirges
thank you cookie for including side-by-side of the new and old versions from the same perspective!! I've been lost in a lot of the previous map rework videos because I don't have every map memorised, that was a much appreciated addition :)
  • @StephenColtharp
By the way, there is a secret reefslider buff in museum. In rainmaker, you can use the angled spinner pieces to jump into the enemy plat with a reefslider, essentially allowing you to make your shark car thing jump. (You can use this to cheese first check and make the rainmaker carrier incontestable).
  • @Smacdown08
I guess you could say all the grates added on flounder heights are grate changes :)

CONGRATS TO NINTENDO TO MAKING ACTUALLY GOOD MAP CHANGES
  • @wboy2008
I was playing rainmaker on barnacle & dime and some player went a new route and i was like:"WHEN DID THAT GET THERE?!"
  • @Nathan11107
I was doing some casual Turf War yesterday and I played on Barnacle and Dime. When I saw the new layout I went "wait WHAT?" Wasn't expecting so many stages to get reworked.
  • @NitroBlast7
This is the greatest block update of All Time
  • @starlotic7900
One thing I want to bring up that wasn’t brought up in this video is Brinewater Tower Control. The path was also adjusted and given a 3rd checkpoint to make it easier for defenders and snowball less like the same changes they did for Um’Ami and Barnacle
  • @galaxmii
look like the pole from Haggle Market just move to Brinewater Spring. Sweet
