When a house no longer feels like home, homeowners are left with a big financial and emotional question: renovate or sell it? Love It or List It helps fed-up homeowners decide. In each hour-long episode Realtor David Visentin and designer Hilary Farr compete for the homeowners' final decision to stay or go. David's insider perspective on the real estate market helps target listings to prospective buyers, but Hilary is determined to show homeowners that, within their budget, she can transform their worn-out house into a castle they can love. If the owners decide to list it, Hilary's hard work adds to the home's resale value. It's a tough decision either way. Which choice would you make?

I thought the main problem was the stairs and no bathroom in the basement. I personally would have listed it.

Can understand. She's pregnant and moving is hard work. Also scary having a baby around a pool. Great job, Hilary.
-
Hilary's work was fabulous but the other house- with a pool and a finished basement?! I would've listed it in a heartbeat.

Half of these issues would be solved if the homes weren’t so cluttered and more organized. I raised three sons in a 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bathroom raised ranch and my house never looked like that, and wasn’t a clean freak. Kids make messes.i always used a baby gate in places they weren’t allowed to go. Mostly for safety reasons. We had a great fenced in backyard and we were outside as much as weather allowed. Although these homes are way more than I could ever own….you make the best of what you have. ❤❤❤

I'm surprised they didn't look more into ranch houses all on one floor. The stairs seemed to be a major issue in every house contender. Maybe all of the houses in their neighborhood have multiple stories?

Gorgeous 😍 😍 But. House #3 was off the hook amazing & stunning ❤❤❤❤
-
I miss this show. I hope it comes back

I honestly thought they would list it and choose the house with the pool.. But that house was over budget plus it was more on the glam side and I don’t know how well that will be with little kids… Good work as usual from both sides…😊

Why is nobody talking about the absolute insanity that is the first house that David showed them?
-
Love the 3rd house, but not the price tag. And with the stunning transformation Hilary did, I'd have live it as well. The price difference of 275k they can add 20 bathrooms in the basement later on, if they want.
-
If she wants to know where the children are, install stair gates so they can be safer
-
The one good thing about stairs is the free work out!! (although I do admit that being fully pregnant the stairs are not that great right now.)
-
The wife is a real piece of work. No clue what renos cost and it's a million-dollar house—and she's quite rude towards Hillary. Wow...
-
Hi Hilary, nice design on the house. It’s too bad they wouldn’t shell out some extra $$ for the basement and other bathroom. I think a rectangle table would have been much better by the banquet though.
-
I always love what she does.

-
I'm curious...do the families keep the furniture as staged after updating, or do their own furnishings come back in if they decide to stay?
-
Building inspection always helps, better.
-
Love the whole transformation

Why wouldn't he show them houses without stairs since that seemed to be a big issue? Hilary did an amazing job, yet they should of have at least a play area on the main floor for mom to be able to watch the children more.
