There's some part of me that wants to see the humanoid dinosaur version. It doesn't feel like Jurassic Park at all but it sounds nuts and could be a good watch!

The concept art at 701 looks A WHOLE LOT like the lizard from amazing spiderman

The second that Velociraptor said "Alan" in Jurassic Park 3, I knew they were onto something BIG. Still holding out hope for Planet of the Dinosaurs.

Hearing that quote from Kathleen Kennedy about finding a reason to do a fourth film because it was never supposed to be a franchise is pretty hilarious, all things considered.

The Barbasol can in the first JP movie has a cooling unit that only lasts 24 hours. Dodgson told Nedry that when they talked about their plan. Thus the Barbasol can in JP4 would actually be totally useless since the DNA would've long been destroyed by the high tropical temperature. That already is a huge plot hole in the script. Still great video as always. Keep it up 👍

I feel the idea of the human hybrid concept is rather unique, but honestly I always had a hunch it strayed too far from what the series is about. The concept script in it's entirely felt like something you would casually see on the Syfy channel late at night (and I meant that in the least inoffensive way possible as a JP fan)

Ironically, dinosaur human hybrids seems less fantastical than what we actually ended up getting with the Jurassic World Series lol

There was a series of books I read when I was a kid about Dinosaurs that had survived the meteor and continued to evolve to the point they had time travel. And were advanced in weapons. So they started to invade modern day earth. Most of the planet was taken over but humanity was fighting back and eventually defeat the dinosaurs. It was a crazy set of books but actually entertaining.

The DNA wouldn't be viable at that point. There was only enough coolant inside the canister for 36 hours, per Dodgeson (in the first movie).

Honestly, that would've been better than the last three movies we got. Or it could've worked as it's own standalone movie as "Tom Clancy meets sci fi horror."

I would love to see a very accurate and faithful adaptation of the first book.

When I saw the thumbnail, my mind thought it was Amazing Spider-Man/No Way Home's Lizard in the photo, then I laughed at the thought of a Spider-Man/Jurassic Park crossover! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Oh wow, I didn’t know that Michael Crichton passed away. That’s a massive bummer. His books of Jurassic Park and The Lost World are fantastic, even though the movies are very different. Also, he was 6’9”? Dude was a giant!

I really like your editing. Using all kinds of clips and images to showcase the scrapped story is just terrific work!
  • It's a good thing they never went down the Human-Dinosaur hybrids angle, because it would've been the death blow for the Jurassic Park series. The Jurassic World film we got was way better than the John Sayles version. However, the Will monahan story would've been amazing.

While I am not sure how accurate this is, years ago, there used to be a website that had a a logo and a title that just read "JURASSIC PARK IV: EXTINCTION." This was way before Jurassic World was released. If I remember correctly, it started as a "Coming Soon" sort of website, then was a countdown, and then the whole site was scrapped after they shifted gears. I'm not sure if this was a fan site, or something the studio was toying with to tease a JP4 announcement, but I remember being excited for it, because at the time this wss the "big finale." Also, kudos to this video, especially in it's handling of Kathleen Kennedy. People seem to forget that Kennedy is a competent producer who just made some poor decisions (REALLY poor, if you ask me) and isn't just some uneducated woman in a position.

Honestly the human dinosaur hybrids could have brought the horror element that the books had, into the films. Would have love to see how dinosaurs can be scary, even sentient ones because of the human dna.
  • Fun Fact: The Stegoceratops Was Originally Going To Be A Dinosaur That Appeared In Jurassic World Alongside Indominus Rex Rather Than A Simple Render On A Computer, But Collin Trevorrow Scrapped It After He Watched Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi With His Son, Who Pointed Out That Since Leia Was Also A Jedi, That Luke Wasn’t Unique. He Then Applied That To Make The Indominus Rex, Making It The Only Hybrid Dinosaur That Appeared So That It Wouldn’t Seem Like One Of Many

Great video! Carlos actually made a video on his YouTube channel discussing the hybrids concept art. They were commissioned by Joe Johnston for his pitch of JP4 - according to Carlos, they were made during a meeting in 2004 and based on their discussions, not a script. Seems like the art was made parallel to the John Sayles script.
