Now playing in select theaters. Everywhere December 22.

From filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos and producer Emma Stone comes the incredible tale and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter’s protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.

Cast: Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe, Ramy Youssef, Jerrod Carmichael, Christopher Abbott, Margaret Qualley

  • Ruffalo skipping onto the dance floor had me and my theater absolutely rolling.
  • @duckiegirl21
Sure the odd dancing is great, but that strange music drew me in instantly with that first note.

I just love Yorgos Lanthimos' unique and special approach to find beauty in weirdness. Here's a character who's not trying to attract attention by dancing, she's just being herself.
  • @williest1
The dinner scene was the pivotal moment in the movie! Her discovering dance for the first time and REALLY letting herself be FREE (dance like no one is watching) - and Mark's character still trying to 'control' her by forcing her to do a more formal dance - and she constantly broke away from himto do what SHE felt....such a foreshadowing moment! This movie is BRILLIANT!
  • @anudarib
Your sad face makes me discover angry feelings for you 😂😂😂. I lost it at the theatre
  • @ajgree6
Ruffalo’s dance when he comes back into view makes me smile every time.
  • @emmymu4748
Ruffalo should have also won something for this role! He was hilarious and phenomenal.
  • @rockingrockcat
Ruffalo's facial expressions and acting in this scene should have deserved an Oscar
  • @kristinpenta
This was honestly one of the coolest scenes I've ever watched in a movie

"She's a maniac, maniac on the floor, And she's dancing like she's never danced before..."
  • This is such a GREAT scene in the movie. And watching Mark’s character, trying not to be embarrassed by her constant childlike mannerism, by jumping into dance with her. The timing is perfect in the movie, and generated a huge laugh from the audience. Such a great film
  • @JMotion
I can't put into words how hilariously perfect the sudden fisheye shot of Ruffalo walking over to quietly bear wrestle the other man is.
  • @nicolasgasquoine
“You, like me, are a creature of freedom in the moment”-what dialogue!
  • @lucabidoggia1317
The man at 0:28 is Jerskin Fendrix, the composer of the score. Such a brilliant work!
  • @martink5071
that fisheye scene with Ruffalo beating this man is absolutely genius
  • @wifeunderthesea
LMAOOOOOOOO mark ruffalo tip-tapping his way over to bella will never not be absolutely hysterical. absolutely hilarious. 😂😂😂😂
  • @NateGH36O
The fisheye lenses are becoming a Yorgos classic choice. I love it
  • Ruffalo's bravado walk to the winking man and then just descending into a pathetic rugby scrum is perfect. Any Saturday night in the UK
