📼Video Summary:
The Magic Cube was invented by Ernő Rubik in 1974. Then in the 1980s it was renamed to the Rubik's Cube. The Speed Cube is a special version of the Rubik's Cube that is meant to be solved very quickly. Those that try to solve it quickly are called "Speed Cubers". They use tricks like Corner Cutting and Algorithms to eliminate time. The most popular method for solving the cube is CFOP which has four steps: Cross, F2L (First 2 Layers), OLL (Orientation of Last Layer), and PLL (Permutation of Last Layer). Other methods for solving the cube are Roux, ZZ, and Petrus. Inside the speed cube you'll find the core made up of six center pieces, and then the twenty "cubies" which consist of 12 edge pieces and 8 corner pieces. The Tension System is made of 6 springs inside the Center pieces. Some versions of the cube magnets inside the core - using MagLev technology. Jared, I am thoroughly impressed by this video. As a speedcuber, I can confirm that you clearly put a lot of research into speedcubing and got all the facts right. Your animation skills are also immaculate, as I can recognize the model of speedcube in the video! Well done!
  • @BranchEducation
Watching this video is a blast from the past of your first Rubik's Cube video!! You've come so far since then. Awesome animation and explanation for the algorithm.
  • @notanonymousperson
Dude, I'm pretty impressed by this video as a speedcuber. You got everything spot on, and even used the moyu screwdriver! You explained how we solve it very well, and I'm sure a beginner can understand it. What a massive upgrade from your previous Rubik's Cube video!
  • @d5kenn
Wow, this video is tremendous. The animation isn't just clear and accurate, the narration is concise, educational and on-point as well. Truly a masterclass in how to introduce and explain a complicated topic. What a job well done.
  • @TheIrfanKamal

  • @SS1971SS
As a cuber, I'm looking forward to this.

I am a speedcuber that averages around 6 seconds, and this video is probably the first video I've seen that explains how the cube functions so well! Great job, Jared.
  • @hawk0485
the fact that you managed to animate the cube flexing and corner cutting is extremely impressive
  • @fs2000
I'm a simple fan, I see a Jared Owen video and I like it instantly cause I know it's gonna be good! Thanks for all the work you put into these animations.
  • @shinyagumon7015
I didn't know how much engineering went into these cubes. It's like the Rubix's Cube equivalent to a race car.
  • @TheEmeraldSword04
Your animations are a great motivator for me to get better at learning Blender, and I enjoy learning about how the items work in the process. Feel free to take a break with more smaller items if you need, we'll enjoy them just the same.
  • @kentslocum
This was one of the best YouTube videos I've ever seen: the sponsor perfectly matched the subject of the video, the sponsorship segment was seamlessly integrated, the animation was top-notch, and I ended up learning more than I expected (how to solve a Rubik's Cube, not just how it's built).
  • @arisandra
Nice video! Might be me in the blog article :P
  • @JoshuaGold1
You consistently have the highest quality animated videos, which, combined with your knowledge and research, is the most enjoyable way to understand something!
  • @tairyfail7761
One of the most sophisticated video about Rubik's Cube ever. I am grateful as a speedcuber for your effort!
  • @NNZaero4066
I love your videos as well as everyone in the comments so far. I felt great seeing a youtuber I like making a video with a program I love (and have open on my computer as I type) about a topic that I'm getting better and better in!
