I remember running into this song for the first time when I was playing this a kid, when you're just traipsing around the overworld between dungeons one and two with your boxing kangaroo pal and it's all very fun and goofy... then you wander up one screen, and suddenly the sky is all dusky, you're at the gate of this stone ruin and this song starts playing... and it's literally just the one screen and you can't go any farther. I remember stumbling into that as like, a 8 year old, and it just stopped me RIGHT up. I spent the next three dungeons wondering DESPERATELY what that strange, somber, eerie place was and trying to imagine what it might be. It's one of my vivid memories of playing those games.

There's something magical about this track. Sometimes I just hear it in my head when I'm alone.

Hands down the best track from the Oracles games. The GBC doesn't exactly have the best instrumentation, mixing or sampling available, but this track shows how to do a lot with comparatively little. It hits the tone it needs to perfectly, for the theme of the area it's associated with, the theme of changing seasons, magic, mystery...and isn't grating at all.

Before I was even able to enter the ruins, I still entered the area whenever I was close just to hear this song. It’s so magical, mysterious, and calming... this is one of my favourite Zelda songs

0:37 - 0:40 sounds like the start of the Kimono Girls’/Dance Theater’s theme song from Pokémon G/S/C

20 years later and it’s still with me. The Oracles were the best games ever.

The buildings stand tall, the gardens still bloom... but all is but a memory. The people who built this strange city have long been gone forever, and their stories disappeared with them. Even so, when one is alone, you would swear you could hear the echoes of strange music from somewhere beyond those skyward temples...

Just replayed this on my 3ds. Forgot a lot of the game and this song was an amazing surprise. So beautiful.

Killer song. Utterly mysterious and isolating. The combination of it being a song for an ancient place using old hardware made this song age very well.

I could seriously leave this on a continuous loop the rest of my life and it would never get boring. ^_^
  • Best tune on the game. So haunting and sombre and melancholy. I loved the Tarm Ruins section with its dull colours and magic but lonely atmosphere. (It does however contain a million infinitely spawning like-likes that force you to go without a shield, despite needing one to deflect the deku scrub's projectiles)

This is my earliest gaming memory. This song, walking into a grey wasteland of enemies. A mysterious maze forest and hearing this music echo from my gameboy. I really am fortunate to have Oracle be my first ever game.

Probably the best track from Seasons.

Its funny as hell that im playing through this game on my Switch and i keep hearing this song play over and over again and I kept thinking to myself I swear the ending part of this song reminds me of a song. And for the life of me I couldnt figure it out but it kept replaying in my head and I did some digging around on Youtube until I figured it out! And its just a tiny piece out of both tracks that reminded me of the song by the rapper Nas-"2nd Childhood" right at the beginning of the song when its just the bassline playing, the ending tail of it sounded similar to the tail end of this Zelda tune

I started out just watching video games over my brother's shoulder. This is probably the first one I can remember. Good times.
  • I was stuck here as child. I remember asking my mom to bring me grocery shopping. One specific store always had gaming magazines! And that’s how I got past the seasons puzzle. Good memories
  • Did anyone else find it funny that the jewels needed to unlock this section were a circle, a square, a triangle and an X?
