Je découvre avec émerveillement cette interprétation. J'avais adoré Pires dans Mozart. Dans Bach elle est aussi raffinée . Un grand moment de piano qui me rappelle Dinu Lipatti.

A most apparent effortless perfection tone and melodic line. It’s basically pointless to compare one great pianist with another - thankfully we don’t have to. Hence the lack of (the) definite article. Having said that, she is absolute joy and has supplied the world with joy and enlightenment in the form of her interpretations. An ensured and gentle spirit.

How have I never heard of Maria before?! The first few bars grabbed my attention and I was hooked...lovely piano and recording quality too. Beautiful...

I work in a dentists reception and find the only music that works in that environment is Baroque or pre Baroque, and Maria Joao's Bach Partitas come top of my list. Exquisite.

It is the first time I hear one of my favorites compositions of J.S. Bach played in a non traditional way. Bach should be played as it was possible during his life, say some "connaiseurs" which would never approve the crescendos and diminuendos this recording bring to our ears. Maria Joao Pires shows us that in the music world there are no limits to show how compositions can be played with the perfection of a personal taste. Thank you Maria.

I feel as if it were not Maria Joao Pires playing Bach, but rather Johann Sebastian Bach rejoicing that she gives him body and soul to let him become audible again through her. I can`t express how thankful I am.....
