AEW Fight Forever Review!

For the first time in a long time we have competition in the wrestling video game world. Apparently its 1998 again! AEW has finally dropped its first ever video game. After being announced almost 3 years ago, after delays and even criticisms. It has finally dropped, so the question is how is it? how did the game that is modeled after No Mercy, a 23 year old game turn out?

Honestly as you can see from the title this is a DAMN FUN game, the gameplay is amazing, the animations left me shook, and I just had a blast. Wrestling with the likes of Kenny Omega, CM Punk and MJF.. but.. it is not perfect, far from it.. lets take a look at it

This game has so much potential. Hope thq give us a ton of updates in the future.
  • @HappyCloud1995
I hope they decide to add more wrestlers, customization and match types as well as moves and arenas

I think the issue with alot of the storylines is that they simulte months at a time since each Dynamite is attached to a PPV of which there's only 4. So the stotylines are probably mostly simulated in the background. That and it also doesn't help they skip an entire year and a half by skimming past the Pandemic Era with only one week in Jacksonville being the representative of the "Pandemic era"

I bought the Elite Edition and while I’ve been having fun with the game I think it shouldn’t have been 80 bucks for a game that was pretty limited. I’m really hoping they fix some of the problems

Dude you are really being generous... It took them FOUR YEARS to make this game! This game is underwhelming to say the least, and this is coming from someone who has been playing wrestling games since 1992. If this game was made by an up and coming company, i would give it a pass, but this is seriously unacceptable for a game that was in development for 4 years just to have a bare bone game
  • @SamsarasArt
The art style actually looks really good in motion. Also thank you for covering both the pros and cons of this game. It's hard finding an objective perspective on this so I appreciate you doing this.

In regards to pins I’m 100% with you. Button mashing definitely ain’t it anymore. Personally think the mini system for submissions and pins in 2k19 was perfect and should be the standard for wrestling titles.
  • @Alamoe1
Gameplay is FANTASTIC. If they add content with updates, it'll keep this game booming for years.
  • @Eshan-
I agree with everything you said about the pin system, the tables, reversals being near impossible when on low momentum, and the reversal indicators, them adding/fixing these things would instantly make the game way better. They also need to make it so you don't get damaged so quick, after a minute or 2 me or the CPU is already on red health, and the last 2 things they should fix gameplay wise is the running, it takes so long for it to start, you can't stop it really, and why do we have only 1 direction running in 2023? That hasn't been a thing since SVR 07, and the last thing is that the movement needs to be faster, so slow especially when you set up a table and it takes forever to go the other side
  • One of my problems with AEW Fight Forever is that the table can’t stay up when you near them! Make table spot more frustrating to pull off!
  • @MarkVersion1
I hate button mashing too. I hope they can add an option for timed kick out as current 2k games has options for both
  • @vDeadbolt
One of my favorite aspects of the GameCube WWE games is that they have both a momentum and a spirit meter.
  • @RAFAT9
This video is why I like your channel. So many other channels have been in shill mode for this game basically glossing over any problems and acting like this game is the second coming. None of it made me think the game was good or made me want to buy it. Meanwhile you give an even handed and quick review and now, if the game goes on sale or theres a sequel ill probably pick it up
  • @1luvtimo545
i love coming to this channel for reviews man when it come to wrestling you definitely one of the top youtubers 🔒
  • @DbrownShinhan
Man you nailed this. From the gameplay being awesome to them going a little overboard on paying homage to no mercy. I’m hoping they find a way to prolong matches bc that’s is the biggest downside to the gameplay. Great vid Pav 🤝🏾
  • @foosdontcry
I knew there was gonna be a review video on this haha, wrestling video games are exactly why I got into wrestling back when I was 7, even as a non AEW fan I wanted to give this game a chance but I wanted to see reviews first cuz the most important things to me in every wrestling game is the creation suite and the extra modes other than exhibition... Looks like I rather get this game when the price drops but hey appreciate the review video brutha, I avoided everyone else's just to wait for yours Pav #pavfightforever
  • The gameplay was good it reminded me more of Day of Reckoning than WWF No Mercy. The graphics were pretty up to par with the style they were aiming for the game. I loved the stacked roster.
  • @ZiggyGamma
No reversal icon and button mashing is wild to me.
