i remember listening to this three years ago in college, desperately trying to pass my classes. Now I'm back here, working as a teacher, loving my job. I put this on as I finish up lesson plans. My friend is coming over for dinner soon. I am happy. I've made it.

This is the kind of music you put on when you wake up on a winter morning, it’s cold and dark outside but your warm in a mass of blankets. You read your favorite book, the one you have already read 100 times but it never gets old. You read by the lights of the Christmas tree, the pages awash in red and green light. As the sun rises and the darkness fades you look out at the fresh snowfall. It sparkles in the gentle morning light, hinting at a perfect day ahead. Christmas memories. (in October)... Edit: I’m back. It’s Christmas time again and it’s crazy to think about all that has happened in the last year. I’m supposed to be writing a paper right now but I’d rather be writing this. The lights are up and even though Thanksgiving is next it’s Christmas that is getting everyone excited. The days are getting shorter and the air chillier. A light dusting of snow adorns the mountaintops and and soon Christmas will be here. It’s time to relax, to spend time with loved ones and to be generous and get in that Christmas spirit. I hope all of you have an amazing Christmas season and that you can find some time to read your favorite book under a mass of blankets by the light of the Christmas tree. This video has become a part of my annual Christmas tradition, it's my background music for most of November and December. I love it so much and it really cheered me up during the harder Christmases like 2020. Just because we get older doesn't mean we can't make new traditions.

I'm writing this on November 27 2019, one day til Thanksgiving. Christmas is the time of the year where you smile and forget all the hard times and lows in your life, you spend time with family, friends, lovers. You drive past downtown, Christmas lights on trees, no one on the streets, no shops open. People at home enjoying time with family and close friends. It's hard to think in just a few weeks, this decade is over. Time really flies and people don't realize. It's Christmas, be happy and grateful. If you read this, be safe. [Edit] Hi there! It's October currently the time I'm writing this. Specifically October 25 2020. This year sure has been hard, and we'll get through it. I'll be back on Thanksgiving, and then Christmas. Halloweens over, time to play this nonstop for the next two months

I long for the days when Christmas was magical. Not being able to fall asleep Christmas Eve... Your whole family here for a meal of fondue and turkey... The smell of the car heater while you drive with your mom through a blizzard... The feel of a cozy winter coat doused in fabric softener... Shopping in the amazingly decorated mall that seemed so much bigger when you were younger... The flavor of a candy cane given to you everywhere you go... Visiting New York City for the first time and being blasted in the face with snow walking through the forest of stringlights and wellwishers... Charlie Brown on your aunt's huge screen tv... Falling asleep to the sound of holiday music on the FM radio... Those were the days.

I can honestly say, out of all the lofi chillhop mixes on YouTube, this is the one I have returned to over and over every year. It’s become something of a new tradition for me, I even return to it throughout the year (writing this in June). I hope the uploader knows just how much this video means to me, as this has been a huge source of comfort in some of the darkest times of my life. Thanks Feardog ❤️

Christmas just isnt the same anymore.. nothing really is yk? When I was younger everything seemed brighter as it got closer to christmas even though its usually cloudy and dark in winter, the snow falling softly and glistening in the lights was magical, my numbingly cold cheeks and nose were refreshing, the christmas lights and decorations made me feel a certain way. Now its really feels just like another day.. honestly every special occasion just doesnt feel special anymore, even birthdays. I always wonder if this christmas will be the christmas where my childhood innocence and feelings of excitement comes back to me.. even if its for a fleeting moment because I miss it so much
