I spied the Mad Spotter dumbbell hooks in the background. Love those things, use mine often.

This was a very nice and objective review. You called things out but were honest about how it does work but where it is limited and where it is strong.

I agree with your recommendation of sticking to the original Monkey Feet for most. The price for such a small thing isn't worth the mildly better convenience.

Please keep pushing companies to improve their products and let's make sure they don't get away with cheap parts that cause moderate durability concerns. It helps keep those prices honest too.

There are other brands that do loadable ankle weights and more for less too. Not adjustable sure, but like already discussed, this is a niche product already for most.

    Nice job Coop and GGR.
  • Cool product and I think it'll be really useful for a small subset of people, but I think overall a better option for most is some nice ankle straps with good padding (or bunch up your longer socks to pad around the ankle a bit) plus an adjustable height cable system and FID bench, basically allows you to do a lot of the same exercises but with a better resistance profile that you can customize and not be restricted by weight limits much.

I use my all-in-one rack + smith machine + functional trainer + FID bench (with leg rollers) with ankle straps for leg extensions, curls, lying knee raises, tibialis raises, etc... and it works great and lets me ensure I get max tension in the stretch position for improving mobility and optimal hypertrophy. Having a spreader/multi-grip bar or some short chains can help too so you can spread your legs a bit more for bilateral exercises.

Good review. I like that you were honest about the exorbitant cost.
  • Interesting design. I already own Kensui Fitness ANKR, but I rarely use them because IMO they are too inconvenient to put on. The Monkey Fit Pro seems easier to put on but unless they come down in price, I'll keep using my regular leg extension/leg machine exercise equipment.

I have Kensui Ankr - a little pricey but i like that they have an opton to keep the bottom flat and you can walk with them on. That being said, i only use them for single leg for hip flexors and hanging leg lifts for abs. They are kind of annoying to set up and dont feel great for leg curls/extensions since the weight at the beginning of the movement is too light
  • My dad had a pair. I used them to train my left foot. I was born with CP. it was very helpful. So there you go. He had the Hoffman version
  • I use Monkeyfeet with my MX select 85s. They work great. MF don’t work with all adjustable DBs. I bought the MX Selects because the dimensions worked with the Monkeyfeet - would love to see a review of Monkeyfeet and the various adjustable DBs. If the price came down on the new ones I might consider them
  • Love the channel and love the review but as a bald man myself just let the scraps go cut them down. Don’t gotta go razor but at least a one clip you’ll look way younger.😂🙌🏾😂

I love my monkey feet, dont have enough room in my single car garage to justify a dedicated machine. The pad has worn down on me but it’s not an issue, I do use adjustable dumbbells with it, works very well. It doesn’t feel as good as a machine but thats a given considering the product however adding resistance bands and utilizing different joint angles I am able to play around with the resistance curve
  • @Siphi
Genuine question for you coop. say i were to get the originals. Could i pair them with my rep quickdraw's and use them? or do you need regular dumbbells only for these?
  • I like my monkey feet. My biggest issue is my feet fitting in the boot at first. Took me a bit to get it where it was conformable. Second had to get the XL strap for a better fit. Why they don't add the XL strap right off the bat I will never understand.
  • @UltraMagnis
I have the nuobells adjustable and I'd love to get monkey feet but they only fit 5inch handles and nuobell are 4.25inches. So I'm interested. 35pounds isn't much weight though. I need something to mimic hamstring curls as I have a bad back and rdls and straight legs deads tend to twinge it.

They can get fed wirh that pricing. I think they think being adjustable it compares to say the nuobells which are pricey as well but they are amazing for limited space gym. You can use them for so many exercises. The pros.....i dont think the cost equals the useage. So that makes me not want them. The price is crazy high for a limited useage.
