Part of what made this era so beloved was the minimalistic approach 32 bit graphics provided. In a lot of ways, 32 bit was for gaming what stop motion was to the film industry. A lost art only few dare to replicate and pull off affectively.

Realizing that ORAS had no battle frontier was a worse experience than seeing my first bald spot

Great video! The DS definitely had a lot of side games though. Mystery Dungeon, the Ranger Series, Dash, Conquest, probably some more that I'm missing. GBA and DS era was peak side game years for sure

this video was great and enjoyable but i think a low-volume song on the background wouldn't be too bad, like a theme from a city or town from emerald. btw subbed!

This was great! This channel has huge potential! Some background music and maybe better mic quality would be the only things that sets this apart from some really high quality youtubers!! Your editing and energy is great! Keep at it ☺️

Tbf they did the 3rd version of the two games back in gen 2 with Pokemon Crystal, which was the very first game that allowed you play a female trainer.

Pokemon was THE WORST on the GBA. That was when the series jumped the shark. Pretty much everything modern Pokemon games are criticized for started on Gen 3. Dexit? It was Ruby and Sapphire that locked players out of using most old mons. And unlike Gen 8, it didn't have the justification that the old mons weren't implemented. ALL existing Pokemon were in the game code, but they were uncatchable to force players to shell out money for later games. Poor post-game? Ruby and Sapphire's post-game was nigh-nonexistent. A HUGE stepback from the previous gen, which offered a whole second region with its own set of gyms as postgame. Scrapping major features? That started with Gen 3, which left out things like the day/night cycle, days of the week, the ability to revisit old regions, etc.

GBA was the last time we got 60fps in a pokemon game.
