🚿 DIY Shower Curtain Hacks 🚿

0:00 1. Shower Curtain Rug
This project turns a shower curtain into a waterproof bath mat.

Here's what you'll need:
- Shower curtain (with your favorite design!)
- 4 dollar store mats
- Duct tape
- Spray adhesive
- Scissors
- Iron
- Hot glue gun
- Water-based polyurethane (optional)

Instructions:
1. Lay the dollar store mats face down in a square, aligning the seams. Secure them with duct tape.
2. Place the shower curtain face up on a table. Cut around the edges, leaving a 3-4 inch overlap for each side.
3. Spray adhesive on the backs of the mats, covering all areas.
4. Carefully lay the shower curtain on the mats, smoothing out any wrinkles. Use an iron to remove remaining wrinkles.
5. Flip the mat over and apply hot glue along the edges of the shower curtain, folding the corners as you go.
6. For extra grip, add a dab of hot glue on the back of the mat.
7. (Optional) Apply water-based polyurethane to waterproof the mat. Let it dry completely.

Enjoy your new shower curtain bath mat!

Should have put the duct tape on the printed side, and it would have appeared seamless.

I would not have though to use the shower curtain as a pillow cover. I need to recover my outdoor seat cushions and now I know what to use! Thank you!
  • I actually use a shower curtain as a normal curtain for my bathroom window cut to size

For the pillow...please don't use E6000 as your glue. Use fabric glue or stitch witch fuseable webbing.

I was expecting them to use them as lenai curtains 😂

The bath mat idea is good but I would have changed the color of the duct tape.

To me seems like a waste of money. Shower curtains aren't cheap any more. Might be easier to just buy an outdoor rug.

For the pillow, she should have made the pattern of the print be the same orientation on both sides.

What does this have to do with a porch??? Besides a rug? I thought this was going to be a design using shower curtains on a porch somehow????
  • Awesome idea!!! These would be. Awesome in my classroom! One per group. Fill it with all the supplies needed for the activity. Love it!! Love the music! Love you!! ❤❤❤

Hopefully the mat shower curtain doesn’t get wet … it could become quite slippery😬

Tape needed to be on the other side. Damp rag and just a few minutes in the dryer works wonders on winkles.(comments for 1st clip)
  • Fabric tape is a good thing too use when folding the edges over too. Especially since ya have the iron out 😉
  • Thanks, great to give more info to the young ones for a great learning experience and fun making new things 😊
