    I tried SynFig a long time ago on my old Windows Surface Pro, and it was very very buggy! I’ve been using OpenToonz for a while and I love it to bits! That being said, there were some features in SynFig that I kinda liked that OpenToonz either didn’t have, or had a similar tool, but not quite the same thing. I’m currently redownloading SynFig on my MacBook just to see if they have fixed all the issues since 2015 or 16, when I last tried it! I’m still keeping OpenToonz, but I wouldn’t mind some redundancy!

    I have a rather wide range of graphics software know-how in my repertoire, having used all three consumer-grade OSs, have successfully ported my personal pipeline to Linux and planning to launch the same program on udemy etc to help people achieve the same. Of all I've selftaught myself incl distro terminal commands, Enve and some Blender, there was almost nothing like synfig. It looks good, the tools are there, but when I started testing with basic tasks, the workflow just turned on me and refused to be cooperative. It is exceptional in that you would think you got it since the UI isn't the most complicated, but it keeps fighting what you're trying to do. Very frustrating. I had like probably 3 tries, like I left it for some time to come back again after I feel I have the fresh eyes (we are talking weeks apart if not months), and I gave up every single time. I have used & had more luck with the Opentoon spinoff called Tahoma2d, although it is currently not my go-to tool for 2d animation. Your mileage may and will vary.

    Hy, what software did you use to make this video?

    Personally, I use Synfig for everything. It's amazing software! I think OpenToonz is great too, and could probably get the same, or similar, results. I think whichever program is used by animator mostly has to do with which one they're most familiar with, and I just happen to be more familiar with Synfig than OpenToonz... and I don't have enough time to slow down and start over in a different production environment. Synfig might be used for other well known productions, but a lot of shows just don't say what software they use. If it's not, I hope it eventually becomes more of an industry standard because it can produce very high quality cartoons.

    i tried watching a tutorial for synfig and even installed it but it looks very tideous and complicated

    Can you tell me some resources to learn synfig studio ?
  • @sequoia5934
    I would pay for opentoonz to just fix crashing
  • @JP-zi9mr
    OpenToonz wont work on a crappy graphic card also it has alot of powerful features that if not used correctly can cause crashes but for the most part I have found it to be very stable over the years but to each its own.

    you did not just call opentoonz intuitive- ;-;
