I love the front bottoms so much because it sounds like a guy was having a breakdown and wrote all of his thoughts down, made the words rhyme later on, and then sang it

The raw emotion from the way his voice cracks at every lyric just gets inside of your brain and pets you like a scared kitty cat

"You say I'm changing, sorry I didn't know I had to stay the same" hits hard. A couple years ago I had issues with a friend. It started because I was going through a really bad depressive episode and didn't want to talk. She told me "you used to be so much fun to hang out with" and it really sucks that I lost someone I thought was my friend because she didn't like the fact that I was struggling and that made me different than I used to be

I was doing my very first homework assignment of my freshman year and listening to new music, this one popped up and I listened to it and fell in love. It got me through my first year of high school along with Twin Sized Mattress. This song will stick with me through my high school years.

The Front Bottoms and AJJ makes me wanna make music because it shows you don’t have to be this amazingly talented show stopping singer to make music. no hate to their voice obviously, but it’s so inspiring to listen to music with a crackly imperfect voice.

i think this songs perfectly expresses what it feels like to always be trying to be perfect because everyone expects you to and then ending up disappointing those people because sometimes it just gets too much. i don’t know if that’s what the song is really about but this is just my opinion. thats why i love this song so much. also the line “you say i’m changing, sorry i didn’t know i’d stay the same” gets me everytime
