I remember when this music video came out I found a comment that explained it very well and I honestly think it was the closest one to the actual message: The white haired guy represents her new life, her fame and all that stuff, but after some time she is tired of it and feels trapped,so she decides to get back to the normal life she had before, which is represented by the dark haired guy,but eventually she realizes that her new life and her old life are now tied together,so there is no way she could get rid of one of the parts and can get back to the life she had because that new experience she wants to abandon is now actually a part of her. The message really breaks my heart💔

to everyone asking what the meaning of the video is: both men are metaphors - the dark haired man represents Rita's old life, her true self, while the blond photographer represents the new glamorous life of fame with all its sexy allure and toxic effects. Rita gets seduced by the sexy new life of fame despite the growing protests of her 'inner true self' (e.g. the arguments between the dark haired guy and the photographer). finally she begins to see how the 'new life' can be toxic and that she's losing her true self - but when she tries to turn back, she realises that she can't go back to her old 'true' self either because it has been 'poisoned' as well (when the photographer manages to get to the dark-haired guy at the end). that's what is meant by "poison" =)

For people who didn't get the video: it's about Rita's relationship with the toxic nature of the fashion/entertainment industry which she compares to poison. Even though she knows it's ultimately detrimental to her being, she still wants to be a part of it. Seeing how it changed her for the worse (e.g. the promiscuity etc.), and how she lost herself along the way - 3:18, she attempts to break free. She tries to reunite with the guy she was in love with before making it big, however, upon finding out he fell into the same trap she did - she flees the scene and burns the posters of her fashion alter ego. Whether she truly broke free is up to everyone's own interpretation (but seeing how she's still very much a celebrity, it's safe to say she didn't).
