The Brazil ending is by far the saddest. Cassie takes a wrong turn, and finds herself trapped. She puts on the mask to try find a hidden escape, but only sees her friends smiling as the mimic comes, and rips her apart. Gregory was probably her only friend.

About the Brazil ending: It is incredibly dark when you realize what's going on in it. The mask is attempting to comfort Cassie before she dies, telling her that everything is alright and Gregory is safe. But in the real world she's alone, trapped and scared, simply waiting for the mimic to finally end her.

The brazil ending is a reference to the movie with the same name. In the movie the mc is about to get tortured, but gets saved by one of his friends and drives off into the sunset together with his love interest. However in the end it's revealed that this happy ending was a delusion, and that the mc was actually strapped down to a chair being tortured and never got saved. What he saw was a daydream he made up as a coping method for the situation he was in. In a similar way, Cassie is escaping into a fantasy world where everything is fine to cope with the situation she is in (being cornered and caught by the Mimic), as despite the happy looks of the endings art, Cassie's breathing says otherwise.

If theres another thing I love about the dlc, its the minor conclusion to Freddy's arc. In the base game, Freddy is concerned that he isn't special and is mass produced, however in the dlc, its revealed that our Freddy was a PROTOTYPE, a unique and new animatronic. He wasn't mass produced, yet he was still art. He was one of a kind, and I love it.

The nod/homage of monty getting zapped by a bonnie neon sign was so spiritually vengeful it actually blew my mind.
  • Its so strangely sad to see the pizzaplex being all ruined and deserted like this.. i actually really liked the neon aesthetic of the actual game so much.
  • A detail about Freddy in Ruin I think is really cool is his chest plating all broken and flapping open and close making it look like a gigantic monstrous maw, even the death animation has the headless bear shoving Cassie into his chest cavity like he’s eating her whole. What was once a safe haven for Gregory in base game become a source of fear for Cassie is an interesting design choice.

I’ve always thought the Brazil ending is the most tragic and also disturbing one, in a way. Cassie takes a wrong turn and ends up in a dead end. Filled with dread and fear, knowing exactly there’s no way out for her, she puts on the mask, and the system plays a made up sequence to calm her as the mimic reaches her and rips her apart.

It’s honestly incredible how much they upped their own game for Ruin. Hopefully it’ll keep getting better from ruin
  • I feel bad for Steel Wool. They were probably forced to rush out Security Breach with oppressive deadlines and awful management, and Ruin is proof they have it in them.

I'd say the most underrated thing about ruin are the jumpscare animations. In the base game most of the jumpscares are just the animatronics screaming in your face while in ruin they actually kill you like monty biting Cassie or the endos literally grabbing cassie by the hair.

It's a pretty minor thing but I really like the animation of Freddy getting up and pulling himself out of the rubble at 9:32. There's just something 'not quite right' about the strange and mechanical way his legs twist back into shape before he stands up that clues you in to the fact that something is actually terribly wrong.

I love how Pastra is so used to people taking over his channel that he’s not even scared anymore, he’s just pissed

From what I understand, the "Brazil" ending is a reference to a movie with the same name, in which the protagonist seemingly gets away from the government chasing him and rides off into the sunset with his girlfriend. However, what actually happened was that he was captured and subsequently killed, and the "good ending" was just a hallucination right before his death. So in the Brazil ending, Cassie took a wrong turn and escaped into cyber space, hallucinating Gregory and her "good ending". It's really sad actually :(

Ruin's environments would not have worked as well without the base game. The contrast of how things used to look vs now makes it so much more engaging and lets us come to more solid ideas of what damage has been inflicted on the various areas.

As someone mildly invested in FNAF lore, knowing that the Mimic is probably going to replace William Afton (and when I say that I specifically mean William Afton's 'soul' or 'remnant' or whatever the hell defines a person in FNAF lore) as the antagonist of the FNAF franchise is a huge relief. First of all, bringing back Afton himself after the ending of FNAF 6 just felt SUPER unsatisfying, it feels like taking a big shit all over that game. I know Glitchtrap and Burntrap still exist, but IMO there’s still a pretty big difference in how I personally perceive a program mimicking William Afton vs. an animatronic that literally contains his ‘soul’ and is just straight up meant to be him returned from the dead. This also opens up some new avenues for the FNAF franchises’ lore to pursue. Instead of explaining the animatronic’s hostility through supernatural forces, like possessions and stuff, it can instead focus on AI learning and how THAT can be scary - I think AI gamer presidents are hilarious, but I’m also not going to deny that their implications are pretty unsettling. It’s a cool alternative theme for the games imo. Also, 'THE MIMIC' is hilarious.

I knew Pastra was gonna love the Mimic the second I beat the game

25:42 I personally feel that the door didn’t cut off The Mimic’s arm. If you look closely at the part elevator door near its head, you can see that The Mimic is STRONGER than the door and leaves a dent in it. What I believe actually happened is that The Mimic’s arm got stuck in the door and he willingly severed it off like a lizard. It’s one of my favorite details and I love it so much.❤️

Ruin feels like a genuine olive branch/apology to the community. Especially with it being a free dlc. As if they’re proving that they’re happily willing to take and implement criticism and learn from their mistakes. To me at least, it makes it all the more clear that the problem with SB was over ambition. They simply bit off more than they could chew. While not a god tier masterpiece, Ruin is proof that this team genuinely cares and is capable of making something great.

Honestly, one of my favorite things in this game was a jumpscare’s. I like that they’re a lot more involved and animated instead of just the usual “AAAgh scary robot screaming at you, and doing pretty much nothing else!”
