To celebrate the new year, yokozuna (sumo champions) do a ring-entry ceremony (dohyo-iri) at Meiji Shrine. Currently there are three yokozuna - Kisenosato, Hakuho, and Kakuryu.

  • Hakuho has finally retired. He kept winning as a yokozuna. He lasted 14 years as yokozuna.
