Congratulations to everyone who stood through all of this and can now come back to read this!
  • The moment you realised your parents didn't appreciate all your hardwork and think you're a disappointment is just another level of pain

“You never talk about me to your friends, you must be so embarrassed” I felt this on a personal level

“Every child deserves a parent” “Not every parent deserves a child”

I am a father of 4 daughters. I love them all equally and more then I can say in words. Reading these comments here, breaks my heart. So many precious children are suffering. To all children; please never let your parents bring u down. U have more value. Parents has different kind off struggles and it isn't fair to u kids for treating u like that. So in the name off all parents; We are sorry too make u feel this way. We know u are precious and we love u, even when it doesn't seems to be.... We are sorry too..
  • I love how we're all depressed wrecks who think we're worth nothing telling other depressed wrecks that they're worth something. Its sweet to have a community to talk to.

I remember this exact photo and song and it just gives me nostalgia of my nightcore phase. I kind of want to go back and I don't know what made me stop listening to it. I'm just upset because I want to go back but can't.
  • Parents feel like they understand you because “they were a teenager once to” or “they’ve been through the same things as you” but really they have no idea what it’s like to still be going through it because they made it out and you don’t know if you can.

The song says "I'm sorry mom and dad" so many times. I just wish I could too.
  • After listening to this song I'm thinking, ""I'll sing this song for my parents in my wedding day"" I'll say, "I'm sorry mom & dad", "I love you although I've never said this", "And thanks for everything"

I started listening to this 3 days after it was posted. I turned 16 last week, even though I thought I never would even make it past 13. To everyone who thought they wouldn’t make it, you can do it.

"They say follow your heat, but if your heart is in a million pieces which piece do you follow"
  • @Apricusus
I listened to this song when I was around 12-13 and my mom was really abusive then it makes me so proud to be able to listen to this song now only 9 days away from my 18th birthday after I’ve gotten the help I need and my family getting the help it needs I’m proud to say that Ive apologized for my actions and for anybody reading this going through a hard time right now I know it might not seem like it and I know you probably have had people tell you this but it does get better<3 as long as you let it get better

To everyone that listened to this when they were younger and didn’t think you were gonna make it past 16 or 18 and you did 👏👏 we made it. Through all the bs we stayed strong
  • @sh1nym
They said to "Follow your Heart" But what if your heart is in a million pieces, which piece do you follow?
  • Me: My sadness: small flames Me: Throws depressing music into the flames My sadness: Basically Explodes

The moment you realize. Mistakes are mistakes. its in the pass. Your parents know you make mistakes. :) Now wipe those tears and give me a hug Gives virtual hug
  • I remember listening to this several years ago back when I was in my second year of high school. It was a shitty time for me and I resonated deeply with this song. I'm proud to say I came a long way. I still have my insecurities and doubts but seeing this along with a few others songs from back then suddenly pop back on I'm happy to say I'm not crying in tears anymore. I am my parents precious child, despite everything we came this far. I got myself together and passed through high school, I'm in university without a plan but I'm working on it. I'm proud when my father tells his friends what my brother , sister and I do. We can get a better house than that one that still sits on the hill, mom doesn't like it that much anyway. I know I'll make them proud. Listening to this now I'm happy that it no longer resonates with me, it means I overcame it.
