Jared, who’s 26 and lives in New York, started photographing action figure toys, purely as a hobby in 2013, and in his own words, his original efforts were horrible and looked like complete garbage, he simply placed action figure toys in poses, like they were shooting guns at each other.
But over time, his skills & experience from trial & error, started creating some amazing results.
Photo Gear He Uses
“I use a Canon EOS Rebel with a 18-55mm lens. I don’t use any flash, but I use flashlights and natural lighting. I keep my shutter speed as fast as possible to capture the explosions. I bring a couple different tripods for filming as well as the photographing. That’s about it!”
Thanks for watching.

Hey Wonder World, thanks again! So happy to be a part of this 🙏🏻
-
The best part is it doesn’t matter if he damages them because it just makes them more realistic so scratches and scuffs improve instead of ruin the shoot
-
This is how it felt like when we were playing with our toys
-
He brings the imagination to life to many of us 80s kids who played with transformers, g.i. joes, he-man, thundercats, etc etc. Awesome awesome stuff
-
my brothers used to do this as kids in the 1960s. I still have some of their black and white photos recreating scenes from WWII. They look surprisingly real.
-
1:33 The batman one looks so real
-
1:33 This looks so cool. Its like a shot from the actual movie
-
The pure joy he must have felt when he looked at the first photo using the fireworks is something only a photographer could understand. Clearly he worked for it, stuck to it and nailed it.
-
He’s got more talent than a lot of directors working today.
-
Toy story logic: "Oh God here comes the burning and bright firecrackers again."
-
I love the Imperial trooper ones. They look so cool. Long live the empire
-
This guy has won at life! To make money off what you did when you were 6 years old is awesome!
-
As a child that’s exactly what was playing in my mind as I played with my 1970’s Star Wars and GI Joe figures.
-
Really cool photos. I didn't even know this kind of photographer exists. Wow...
-
Jared's work proves that when you have passion and determination, you can unleash the true artist inside all of us. His work is truly amazing. I am a fan of his work now.
-
This is brilliant. The use of practical effects and real-world objects looks 10,000x better than anything you'd get in CGI. The simple "back to basics" approach hearkens back to what made films in the 80s so charming. Love the work here. Thanks for the video!
-
His figure are probably terrified when he takes his camera and fire crackers 😂
-
This (along with stop motion) is what I always dreamed of doing with my toys when I was little.
-
I used to do this with a polaroid when I was a kid! Great memories!

This makes me forget about the sadness and corruption of the world and focus on a more happier time In life. I'm glad for content like this
