I still can't believe they don't have a Flub Drum Section! OH MY GOODNESS
  • Just sharing: I was first grade in high school, joined concert band as a freshman. I belonged to percussion section, and trusted to played accessories. After a month, we have our first concert at city station. As long as I practiced, I was told to use a soft bass drum mallet to hit the gong, and told to hit it really hard. I have a gong hit (about mf) on 3rd bar of our first song. At the show, I was told to use real (hard) gong mallet. And as a good freshman, I did what I should. Next what I heard was the loudest gong sound I ever heard. I panicly muted the gong. At home, I listened to the recording and heard that my gong sounded so loud that the rest of the band can't be heard. What an embarrassing and unforgettable first experience.

The kid who "couldn't play" is better than 95% of the new kids in my high school band...
  • I was cut from a DCA Corps a couple years ago but learned from the mistakes and mishaps. It made me a better player and performer especially when learning music. Now I’m center snare for another corps so you always have time to improve and better yourself !!! :)

Dude I laughed so hard here 2:20 Something about a high schooler just being god tier at playing and not even getting to play the drum he audition for had me dead💀
  • @NickSmall
dude that "cut" on the downbeat at 5:29 made me laugh WAY more than it should Lol! this was hilarious and brings back alot of memories of my high school drumline. People got cut for these reasons forreal lol
  • @skeletizer
All of these are literally every drumline ever in hight school lmao
  • Our snare feature is so cleannnnnnn 💛 Too bad Lil' Peanut doesn't even know it >:(

I got cut from a group one time before I even knew I was in it. Professor sent out an email that I was needed to play in it, but the email got caught in my spam filter, so I didn't know about it until he came to me in person and told me that it wasn't acceptable to skip out on rehearsals... I got replaced with our second chair before I even knew about the ensemble. Good Times.

I’ve never been cut but one dude in my high school line from like 2014 got cut because he got caught on a professional video recording deep throating a banana during a run through 😂 but my line has a joke that the director will never cut any of us because we’re all pretty good and all in the same grade pretty much so we all say “What are they gonna do? Kick me out?

I got drummers hand tendinitis, thank you for being here. When I can’t play drums, I like watching you play the drums; there’s something therapeutic about the sound.
  • Years ago I was thrown out of my high school marching band for "thinking I was better than everyone else." The whole drumline was not playing the written music, but, instead everyone was making up their own part, and going into competition like that. When I spoke up the whole band put on a little trial complete with witnesses testifying that I was the problem. Fun times.
  • They test me for it every year and I pass it with flying colors! Lmao
  • @LegendForsaken
While I didn't March anything past college, I haven't ever gotten cut, but one time in highschool at a sight reading competition, I was playing concert snare and got penalized for playing a 3 grace noted note "too cleanly"
  • @YoshiLikesJazz
I can’t believe Steven got into the tenor line lol. Poor masked guy!
  • @holdeenyo8914
Imagine having a drum line big enough to be cut, we only have 1 tenor, 1 snare, and one bass 1,2,3 and 4. And I’m not in it, tenor saxophonist
