Beautiful shells, but don't forget protective goggles if you do this at home. Just in case the acid is acting up. And never pour the water into the acid, but always the acid into the water (just like Harry did) to dilute the acid before disposing it.

Hydrochloric acid + calcium = calcium chloride + carbon dioxide + water. Bubbles are carbon dioxide and calcium chloride is soluble in water π chemistry π
