I haven't read Vance's book, it has brought about much discussion about "white trash", perhaps I'll check it out at the library in order to find out why. Does he think he's "white trash" or has he been called that in his past? I'm curious. Why has his book caused that particular discussion? There is a class distinction in this country, being poor doesn't automatically make one, "white trash".
