Everyone: “Who in the world would sing about killing Austrians while eating onions at 3 in the morning?” Napoleon: “Oh boy 3 AM!”
  • @UwU-xk5cx
"The austrians can take our lands!, the austrians can take our baguettes! But they will NEVER take our ONIONS!"
  • British: We wrote a song about our grenadiers! Germans: We wrote a song about our tank crews! Russians: We wrote a song about horse drawn machine guns! French: We wrote a song about our love of onions and killing Austrians to keep them away from our onions!

"Au pas camarade" is well pronounced. The rest of the song, well... it's "Furenchu"

For the ones who want all of the history behind the song : Le chant de l'oignon According to legend, originated among the grenadiers of Napoleon's Imperial Guard called "les Grognard". Before the Battle of Marengo, Napoleon found some grenadiers rubbing vigorously on their bread. "What are you rubbing on your bread ?," he said, "It's onion mon Empereur" "Ah ! Very good, there is nothing better than an onion for marching on the road to glory." The true story is a bit more dramatic while a lot of soldiers had nothing else to eat than onions for long periods of time a tradition began in the Napoleonic army soldiers were biting in an onion before going to battle as the bitterness of the oignon give them courage as the song says "Un seul oignon nous change en lion, (One onion turn us into lion)" once a soldier bites the oignon his camarades would die for him and he would die for them

Well, as an Asian, I can confirm that onions fried in oil are pretty damn good.
  • The B/C logo mark begins to look more and more awesome to me in these days. And the heart mark on the FT-17 as well.
