FT8 on A TABLET???

Published 2024-05-26
Do you need a computer to do FT8? No you don't, you can get by with a cheap Android device and an app called FT8CN.

Note FT8CN needs to be sideloaded onto your device, you can find the app here: github.com/N0BOY/FT8CN

You can find my original video on FT8CN here:    • FT8 POTA with a Phone?

Nice, I have wanted to do SOTA with FT8, a tablet is a lot easier to carry than a laptop

Good one Morten! That will save me lugging my raspberry pi around.

Using your Android phone as a hotspot you can run FT8cn wirelessly as well. Depending on if your radio has WIFI capability. It's a great app.

I'm an Apple fanboy but that was good to see. Keep the music coming too, LOL.

Tried to activate a park yesterday with no luck qrp on SSB but switched to ft8 and quickly received 13 contacts. Sometimes its necessary to be flexible and have a backup plan. I've yet to get this app to work with the Xeigu 6100 as planned but will soon hopefully.

I have a Samsung laptop, and I use it for my SDR and other ham radio equipment, I don't use it for secured internet connection, like banking or buying stuff over the internet,
