I know I literally just uploaded a cover a few days ago, but I couldn't resist posting this since I finished it tonight! It's a cover of the song "Safe and Sound" from the soundtrack of the upcoming Hunger Games movie. I think Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars did a beautiful job with the original -- when I first listened to it I literally wanted to cry! The lyrics are perfect. It's incredible.
This can't compare to the real version, but I really hope you guys like it... And if you haven't read The Hunger Games yet, I'm telling you -- you're missing out! Go buy or borrow a copy. You won't regret it.

I've always imagined this to be the ghost of Prim wandering the ruins of District 12, singing back some version of what Katniss sang to her.

While I'm listening to this song, I think about two moments in the book: 1. Katniss and Prim are sitting under district 13, before the crazy cat game. Thirteen District is on fire. 2. Prim is in the Kapitol, she's helping the children, who haven't died yet. Then... it's Prim and Katniss who are on fire... And then, it becomes really hard to me not to cry... WHY? Katniss' father. Rue. Mags. Finnick. Prim. Madge. That's not the end of the list. I do not know, how Katniss could handle this...

Hey, guys! For anyone wondering where my original version of "The Hanging Tree" went, I didn't remove it – it's been wrongfully copyright claimed, so that's why it's not showing up at the moment. I think it may have gotten caught in a sweep and they mistook it for an unlawful upload of the Jennifer Lawrence's movie version, but I've filed a counterclaim and hopefully it should be up again soon. Everyone keeps saying how this is Taylor Swift's song. Sure, she wrote the lyrics but the Hunger Games used the tune so it is considered a Hunger Games song.

Holy butts your vibrato. The way you change pitch combined with the harp makes it almost sound like an Irish folk song.

I've been subscribed to you for 9 years, since this was uploaded! I was obsessed with your covers while I was growing up. You put a tune to songs written with no tune (not this song but the hanging tree and the lullaby) it was inspiring! I stop by every now and again to listen to my old favorites again. (Teardrop) I love all your videos. Especially the kingdom hearts covers that make me cry. I think you have an astonishingly beautiful tone in your voice that just calms people and really is amazing. I love your voice and I love the way you sang this song and all your other songs. My first song I listened to by you was "I see the light" and it was gorgeous. I saw you did Zelda covers, KH covers, and other Disney covers and I just absolutely adored them. Thank you for this wonderful cover and all the others you do. You deserve a million subscribers. Especially after you made me cry multiple times by your voice that can move mountains.
