No way I'd watch 4 hours of any other history documentary. Everyone has already applauded Mary for her fantastic presentation, but I think the producers and their crew also deserve high praise. The camera work and scene staging is top notch. And the organization required to get the trips planned, the lines scripted & recorded, all the pieces filmed, and to edit it all together so well is insane, especially with a small crew.

I’ve been in Rome for 2 days and it’s just completely unbelievable and surreal what went on here and the history of it all .
  • Mary is amazing. Mary made an impression on my wife and sparked her curiosity of History. It's made our marriage stronger. We sit and enjoy documentaries together and talk about history all the time. Thanks for igniting that spark Mary. I'm forever grateful 🙏

I love this twofold: 1) It’s surprisingly hard to find a comprehensive timeline of old societies. Please, please do more! 2) Ms. Mary is an absolute QUEEN.

My wife is Italian. For our honeymoon we went to Italy, right around the time that the "this is my Roman Empire" memes cropped up. At this same time I was reading Mary's "SPQR"....I figured this would be a great way to tie it all off with a bow, and it did not disappoint.....wow.

I Love the way Mary orders her thoughts and presents very complex history as though it were just a normal conversation. This is a rare talent. It inspires a student to then go learn all the details they can. She has given a framework for further learning. I think she is one of the greatest teachers of her time. She reminds me of the great Physiologists Arthur Guyton (no physician has published more work than him, at one point 70% of all Chairmen of USA Physiology departments trained under him). He was a kindly, sensitive old genius. that quietly inspired you to go devour as much knowledge as you could. Mary seems to have all those delightful gifts, so humble, so magnificent, she is.

Mary, through the years you have gotten a niche in my life and heart I must say. I absolutely adore your presentations, your acute mind, your wonderful wit, your crass language that sometimes seems to be the closest description of what you are talking about, your incredible knowledge, your humbleness, what a joy you are! Thank you for all your efforts and research, you, and Sir David Attenborough are the real Jewels of the British crown! From a faithful admirer in Germany.
