MASSIVE HOMESCHOOL BOOK HAUL | Building Our Homeschool Library

Published 2023-04-07
It's time for a massive homeschool book haul! I love building our homeschool library, and it's been far too long since I've done a giant homeschool book haul. This homeschool book haul is especially exciting because I found some incredible deals on homeschool books at a bi-annual sale put on by our local library organization. I love a good homeschool library haul and am so glad we are able to give these books a home! I'm sure I'll have more homeschool haul videos coming in the near future as we prepare for next school year. What types of homeschool resource hauls would you like to see? Have you added an living books to your shelves lately?

I just recently bought a huge $400+ book haul from my favorite second hand sites. It's so refreshing to know I'm not the only one out there who adores literature.
  • I use the app Library Thing. You scan in all your books and then they are cataloged just like a library
  • Most definitely make a Google Docs and share with your husband. Take pics of your shelves and then type up the titles. I don’t have mine in ABC order, I just use the search function to find the book title. Has come in handy so many times when I’m unsure if we own a book or not.

📚Yes, I'm your kind of people. I must admit, I'm more of a skimmer than a reader, but you'd never know from the extensive library I've built for our family. Thanks for the reminder to catalog my books. I started cataloging in Libib a couple years ago, but didn't get more than 100 books entered. Time to try something that encourages me to keep up the process. I've pondered Library Thing, BookBuddy, GoodReads and ... a good old Google spreadsheet. I'm leaning toward an app (for ease of scanning) that can be exported to spreadsheet (for ease of lesson planning with other things I have on a spreadsheet). I've been tossing around the idea of creating a channel and starting with a library tour and/or book haul (since I do them often). Your 2K views in 11 days is inspiring me to just do it. Thanks for sharing. All the best and much success!!
  • 📚😊 We keep running out of bookshelf space! It’s a real problem. You scored some great titles in there!
  • @cedisario
📚 I just bought 100+ books myself. I would love to see your whole library
  • I love books. My rising 3rd grader was asking for a dictionary the other day and we found a children’s dictionary at target on clearance. I totally jumped at it.
  • I use the Book Buddy app to remember what books we have! It takes a bit of time to scan them in, buts it’s worth it!
  • 📚 you found some great books! I too loved for dystopian novels in high school and am realizing that I didn’t read very many classics growing up. I get so excited when I find classics at book sales for dirt cheap 😊

Great book sale haul!! 📚 I got some treasures at a library sale in March, too. It’s so great to support the library while also adding some gems to our own home libraries. I’ve been watching your videos for at least a year now and love your content. I hope our home library is as rich as yours as my kiddos get older (3 year old and 10 month old). Giving our kids time with us to read is such a lifelong gift. I remember reading to my mom when I was younger, and I hope my kids remember the hours and hours we’ve spent reading together!
  • @NC-Mama
Totally agree about reading classics with your kids that you didn’t read as a kid or that you just don’t remember well. There’s something special about it.
  • I use LibraryThing for our books! I think we have about 800 cataloged, but I know I don't have them all. I have some antique books that I can't easily catalog because they're not common, but I'm also not likely to purchase duplicates of. If most of your books have barcodes, it's easy to scan them in! Our local libraries stopped the Friends of the Library big sales ever since 2020 😢 I miss them!

📚 📚 made it to the end …didn’t read other comments but we use Library Thing App to organize books. I pull it up when I am out shopping for second hand books. 👍
  • @leiz.6103
Love book hauls! If you ever get a Google Doc for your book titles, please share with me LOL!!
  • 📚 I'd love to have the space for all the books although I'm not bothered about keeping books for me but I love kids books especially ones that look beautiful too.

Phantom tollbooth was my favorite as a kid, we are listening to the audio book right now
