as a Chinese person, I can confirm that basically everyone wants to escape from NetEase's version lol. there had been a lot of drama when Mojang decided to contract Minecraft China's operation to NetEase, and sure enough, now they created an abomination of pseudo-Minecraft mixed with shit tons of gacha. Many OG players fled to the international version (which can still be purchased and played in China without a VPN - albeit with a few additional steps), and the NetEase version continues to serve its role as a difficult reminder of the full destructive potential that profit-motivated Chinese game companies can do to a game that's not supposed to be monetized like this. With all that said, the player count for Minecraft China is undoubtedly massive, in part due to the addictiveness of daily rewards, events, and other gacha systems.

Lol I can't believe you got it to work.

Chinese people call the fox "My Burden" instead of "My companion" since it stops you from putting a block on a certain place lol
  • How is this simultaneously 10 times better and 10 times worse than our Minecraft

This ain't microtransactions no more, this is macrotransactions.

The Chinese version of Minecraft looks more like a strange Roblox ripoff with that home menu, currencies and animations

Hi, Former Hong Kong citizen here, Minecraft is actually available for purchase on microsoft or app store just like other countries, so all this is not needed, however, main land China would have to do all that. Very cool video, ive never gotten the chinese verion.
  • As a Hong Kong person who can access both normal Minecraft and china I find this video extremely interesting

"How come WE don't have this?" -- because the cost of that is a Gatcha system, Rewarding systems, Predatory Coinage systems, a locked down ecosystem, a game that really doesn't seem to care about a reasonable gameplay loop in lieu of FOMO add-ons. If Minecraft looked like that I would have noped out a lonnnnnng time ago.

As a Chinese person, I can tell you that not many Chinese Minecraft players like these changes, it's really only the little kids that love playing the additional features. Most players are really unhappy with NetEase changing the game, because they are adding too many features that just makes it less ...Minecraft. For most players, like me, they would rather use a VPN to play the java or bedrock version.

Bro that’s like “Temu Minecraft” 💀

(Translated from Chinese to English using deepL) Most people don't like the netease version of minecraft, so much so that we tend to play the international version of minecraft. The netease version of minecraft has a chat filter that is so harsh that normal greetings become ****, and the overly fancy user interface may be a novelty to you at first, but this causes a lot of performance issues Framerate drops (you even need to use one game launcher to start another game launcher), both in the launcher interface and in-game performance issues resulting in slightly lower framerates for international versions, most of the mods in the market are ported and restored by the creators of the content without the consent of the original authors, some of the fancy skins that you need to get by random draw, vanilla The game lags behind the international version of Minecraft by 1 or 2 years (now is 1.18 minecraft version), Netease does not think too much about the playing experience but rather how to make more money from Minecraft China edition.

From what I've heard, Minecraft China Edition is basically Minecraft if it was twice as predatory as Roblox
  • I would have never expected my day to start with fundy playing a roblox game in Chinese Minecraft
  • @FireyMinecraft
What differences did you notice compared to the regular version? Looking forward to hearing more!
  • @Bionic
the "M" in Chinese Minecraft stands for microtransactions 💀
  • @ACrispyNugget
This video is a mix of "Why don't we have this" and "I'm glad we don't have this"
  • Diamond is like the main currency where you can sort of but other currencies. They have a lot of YouTuber skins and a bunch of (sorta) useless stuff that aren’t part of the main game. There is one mod where its connected to your launcher so you can get different pets in the launcher and it will show in the mod.
