In the past when I was less experienced, I would watch videos like this on how to create a more elite release and so that's what I thought I needed to do, but as I got more experience, I realized that the release is more of a function of creating better timing and being able to get the body into position in order to be able to create a better release, and as you create better more consistent timing you will have the ability to create different kinds of ball roll and be more versatile with the release. So timing first in my opinion.

Gotta say, you have been killing it with your recent videos. Well done, keep'em coming
  • This is probably the best "release" video I have seen from one of my favorite bowlers. This is something I am always working on. Thank you.

Thanks, Andrew. This video has one of the best explanations and demonstrations of this subject, which can require a very subtle understanding.

Hey camera man, when he is showing and talking about his hand position could you pan down please? haha. Awesome vid. Super informative. You are an awesome teacher. I love the way you explain things.
  • I appreciate the content, training, and tips. I'm especially grateful to Andrew—I trained with him a few months ago, and his advice and direction have significantly improved my game. Thanks, Andrew. I'm looking forward to the next video!

Ok so I have watched many videos on the release, and how to properly release the ball. By far Andrew this is one of the best on the topic slowing it down and showing the hand position all the way through the routine is spot on to what was needed to truly demonstrate a solid practice routine. I must have watched this video at least 30 times the day it was released, my wife took my phone at dinner lol. The only thing is camera angles were a little off to high or too low but you were spot on the subject, simple not over the top, easy practice routines, and to the point! Keep up the great work and can't wait to see more from you.

Andrew - you have given us some great informative videos so far. Suggestion for a future video, something along the lines of a tournament/league VLOG or a "day in the life" video so we can get to know the man behind the foul line.
  • Your videos are great brotha! I must say of all things the liquid bandage under the tape hack is 👌🏼! Haha it’s the little things like knowing your tape isn’t gonna move that make a difference in replicating shots!! Keep it up bud!

Great video Andrew! Would love to see VISUALS of lane transition. We talk about the oil but we really cant see much of it past the arrows. For example, what is happening to the lane the first game, maybe showing a visual of what is happening. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th game etc. And then as the lane breaks down, what does that mean to me as a intermediate bowler. Should I move? Should I stay and switch balls? Do I move and switch balls? How do i stay ahead of the transition? What does a lane that has had urethane thrown on it look like? What does that mean if I am not throwing urethane? What does that mean for the next 2-3 games i am bowling on this pair? Your a natural at this keep it up! You and Kris should come back and visit Kyle and I in Oregon this winter!

Really Good Info here! Took some of these ideas to the lane today and saw some improvement!🤘😜

fantastic video, thank you! any tips on an effortless downswing? i have a tendency to pull down in my downswing.
  • Thank you, any chance you can do more of the drills with different releases on the rev trainer (this time with the camera on it the whole time?)
  • ive been working on my release to for a while / i heard of the ball drills b4 but never heard of the type on the ball to help see how it rolls ill have to try that next time i head to the lanes . thanks.
